A player who I am decent friends with named Olieee has been recently saving up all of his money on OP in hopes of finally being able to pay for an upgrade from God rank to Titan rank. Finally after all of his saving he started looking for someone who would do the upgrade. A player named Dyker (who is a huge scammer) came along and convinced Olieee that he would buy him Titan rank for 28k op money. If not all of you know, 28k is a lot of money on op. Dyker manipulated Olieee (a kid) into a bad situation where there was no mod online to middleman and Dyker said that he was busy and had to go. Long story short, Dyker scammed a kid of all his hard-worked money on OP PvP for the dream rank that he longed to get. I came online after all of this and logged on to hear the situation. I was very upset about this and I felt extremely bad because I knew Dyker was a scammer and I wasn't online to stop it. Just then I got a message from one of my friends Bossmonkey26. He said to me, "I am going to buy Olieee Titan because it's the right thing to do." Bossmonkey26 is also very young and he spent some of his Christmas money on helping someone he did not know very well. Bossmonkey26 is an amazing person and if you ever see him online, I ask you to give him a pat on the back. Good things happen to good people. This being said, I want to take this opportunity to help some people out with ways in which I find helpful when doing rank upgrade trades. 1. Always, and I mean ALWAYS, record the entire process of the trade. This is a very helpful strategy so that if you do get banned, you have the necessary means of proof to get the player who scammed you banned. 2. Mineverse staff are always there to help you so when doing rank upgrade trades, I highly recommend that a mod is contacted and used as a middleman for these trades. 3. Do not let the "scammer" control you. If you have no means to record and there is no staff member online or available to help, I recommend being extremely cautious and make sure you follow step 1 or 2. Some scammers such as Dyker in this situation will prompt you to continue with the trade because "they don't have time" or "it's now or never". Sometimes these statements may be true, but most of the time, they are strategies people use to manipulate a buyer. 4. Always ask other player's opinions. There are a lot of genuine people amongst the Mineverse community so never be afraid to ask people about the person who you are doing your deal with. This is not always reliable as scammers might have friends help but it can be a very effective strategy. 5. Never let someone you don't trust, middleman your trades. I have heard of countless times where people reach out to a common middleman to hold onto the items/money until the transaction has gone through, this is sometimes a good way of doing things but using a mod is much safer. Also, the middleman might be someone who you thought you could trust but actually can not in the long run. 6. Know when something is too good to be true. If someone offers to buy you, titan, for the only 5k, they either do not know how money works on the server (which is possible but unlikely) or they are trying to manipulate you into falling into their trap. I hope these tips help everyone out on the Mineverse's network with making safe rank upgrade trades in the future and as I mentioned before, Bossmonkey26 is a great person and please give him the recognition he deserves. (Let me know in the comments if you have any other tips to stay safe while rank trading)
