Blocks turning into Stone

I was in the creative world. I'm trying to do note block stuff and I need certain things for it. Whenever I try to get a pumpkin, it turns into stone. I also tried getting carved wood, and it turned into stone. I am not sure if certain blocks are not allowed or not, which is stupid already, or if it's a glitch. Can you please fix this?

 

Mineverse creative runs on 1.12, using blocks that came after 1.12 will not work on the server.

In the future yes, the issue now is that the newer versions get less and less compatible with the old versions, making it harder for us to update to them, and still be able to let people from any version from 1.8 to the latest log on the server.

The issue with pumpkins is most likely happening due to the block for pumpkin being changed in 1.15.

Creative, Survival, Lobby, and Skyblock run 1.12.2 The rest of the servers run 1.8.9, any other versions can cause a few odd glitches (mostly visual) so I would recommend using whatever version the server you're on is running.

why do emerald blocks work then?

 

Emerald blocks were added in 2012 in version 1.3.1, well before 1.8 or 1.12 came along.

 

weren't pumpkins in minecraft before emeralds?

 

The pumpkins got changed in either 1.14 or 1.15, there's now three (I think?) separate types of pumpkins, meaning that pumpkins are technically a "new" block, if playing on 1.14 or 1.15.
