      UPDATE:

So, I'd made a map suggestion but it quickly got bombed for some flaws. I took my map suggestion down previously because it was simplistic, all right, but a little bit too simplistic. It also didn't look good enough in some places, and there were some issues like the islands being sort of close. So I have fixed those up, at least to the best of my abilities.

One suggestion that was made to me was to increase the block variations. I found some ways to do this. Each island now has a bottom part that can be accessed using ladders. This adds more substance to each island and allows for players to attack from there. The islands now each have furniture like bookshelves and jukeboxes in order to make them look a little less bleak. Finally, the middle island now has an extra layer of obsidian, which gives it a geode-like sort of feel, which in my opinion is sort of cool. It still has lava, too, so it will hurt to get knocked back there :D.

I used blocks such as nether quartz ore, end portal frames, and redstone lamps in order to enhance the block variation of the islands, but I wanted to make sure it didn't become "block randomness." I also had to make sure it didn't become too abstract.

If you don't support the map, please don't just say "No support." Instead please tell me what it is about the map you didn't support and what exactly I should do to improve it.

      -------------

      Original post:
So since we have a new developer who might do some specific stuff here and there (which is better than our previous situation, we haven't heard from the previous minigame developer for a few months now), I decided now might be the best time to suggest a new Bedwars map!

      IGN/Team Name: PrideDHomunculus (currently VIP)
      Map Name: Mineral
      Gamemode for Map: Bedwars
Description of Map: Medium-large spheres made of quartz, color-coded with various minerals (lapis for blue, emerald for green, redstone for red, gold for yellow).
The gold is in the middle, like Windmill.
      Screenshots/Recording:
I decided that last time a bunch of pictures were too frustrating to deal with. So I made this recording instead. The villager spawns in the fenced area with the diorite on top.

      Other extra info:

First thing that inspired me to create a map was...well, some of the maps get kind of dull. None of them seem to explore any concepts such as dimensions, or foods like candy, or anything like that. So I set out to make my own.

When creating this map I wanted to try and create something unique. Now I like Windmill's concept (yeah I know it gets lots of hate but whatever) so I decided to build off of that, but I noticed Windmill has got LOADS of nooks and crannies that can be easily exploited. It has so many high tower things it's not even funny.

In short, in Windmill you can hide in any of the houses at the bases, easily epearl to the bed or that tree, and build skybridges without the other teams noticing. Now in other maps such as Skyline Restauarant you can't do stuff like that (at least not skybridges) this easily.

The middle of Windmill has the same issues - it's easy to build high places from there, or just hide in that area at the top. It's just too complex.

So my map, while simple, solves all of these problems. It's not possible to skybridge like that without being noticed anymore, and the players who win have to launch a strong attack (no sneak attacks, the back of the place is covered in stained glass which cannot be broken unlike Skyline Restaurant's glass, if you don't like this tell me. This makes this map a little easier for people who don't know to expect sneak attacks every last minute of the game).

Another thing I wanted to include was lava. Lava is sort of underused, and I decided the best way to use it would be to combine it with a situation where the players HAVE to go to the lava area and fight for gold (especially since sneak-sky-bridging from Windmill isn't really possible to hide here). The only map currently with lava is Desert and not that many fights occur in the middle there, so I decided to make the middle a more high-stakes place where people can knock each other into lava, perhaps giving KB sticks a reliable use.

Also, the inside of my map looks kind of like Spiral, as it's a dome with resource spawners, villager, and bed. In my opinion Spiral's main flaw is that its interiors are way too cramped, so I improved on it by making my domes significantly more roomy so you can actually trade without accidentally hogging resources. It's always nice to have that breathing room :D.

Finally, a few more pros about my map:

-It doesn't have flatlands. That's right, I was able to make an all-air Superflat world and be able to build in it.
-I botched it up while generating the world and it did end up having some villages, but I MCEdit'ed out anything close by so building to them isn't feasible anymore. Plus villages aren't nearly as bad as infinite flats, though both are really annoying. But since we have a new developer now maybe the problem of flatlands will be solved entirely.
-It's completely symmetrical (from the outside, excluding interior furniture) and all the bases are an equal distance from the center island (and they're properly aligned, too). Also thanks to MCEdit (since I just made one, copied it, and replaced certain colored blocks with others to match the team color). I had to use some tricks to get it to copy the exact distance from the middle.

      Thank you!

You made a very cool map. But I don t think it'll be the one i play on a lot, because the bed is neart he spawn area. Like spiral. I hate that.
      Still, Support.

Spiral isn't that bad with that, my main problem with spiral is how cramped it is, and how those uneven half slabs around the bed make it harder to protect, and harder for the opposing team to break. Thanks!

      Neutral.. Here are my reasons:
      1. This map does use some blocks that aren't used in other maps and to us maybe could be breakable, also the ladders may not be a good idea since they are breakable, trollers would use that to their advantage.
      2. Even though you made the map without flats, if they add it, flats will get generated anyways.
      3. The gold generators are in middle, unless these are extra, it'll end up being a new map to spawnkill on.
      4. I know you tried very hard but as @Lieutenant_Pr0 said, the islands are to close to middle.
      5. All of the current maps are island themed, as this one is not, they may not add it, I don't know if this is true.
That's it, but I thank you for trying, bedwars could use a revamp in maps.

I really dont like spiral because of that. I prefer abandoned mineshaft or texas massacre to it anyday.
      But still <3 the map.

In response to #1: Developers could fix that easily
In response to #2: They might not, idk tbh.
In response to #3: true, it might be windmill all over again, but yolo.
      In response to #4: true.

Where do you think I would have to add it?

I know my map is sort of abstract, but heck at this point anything new besides abandoned mines (which I've been playing a lot more lately for some reason) would be good.

A new map would be good.. that's the whole purpose, but it needs to be a good map to enjoy.

It doesn't need an island theme to be good...

...but I'm thinking of adding stone to the bottom (sort of making the mineral blocks fuse with the stone bottom area) to make it island-themed while still retaining whatever's currently there. So it will look more like a chunk of rock with a shaft coming out of it (really close to the other maps, which are just chunks of rocks without shafts). Would this fix the "detail" problem as well?

      -----------

If I do make the islands further how far should they be?

I didn't say it did, but it would be nice, because the other maps do, if we have a map to add it should be of best quality.

I'd say 64 blocks from 1 island to the middle
      also, remove the bottom floor.
