Okay, I'm here looking for clarification. I've seen a wide range of reports where players are tempbanned, or banned for hacking. What is the official ban time for hacking? According to the 'Official Mineverse Rules', if you're hacking on a non-pvp gamemode it's only a 14 day ban. But, here is an example of a time where I've reported 2 people on a pvp game mode (kitpvp) for hacking. One time the player was tempbanned, meanwhile on the other report; the player was banned. Tempbanned: http://www.mineverse.com/threads/roban963-hacking-tempbanned-recyclinq.74794/ Banned: http://www.mineverse.com/threads/sirmankeygaming-hacking-banned-tads.74406/ So, I guess my question is: What gamemodes are considered "non-pvp"? I mean, a majority of our gamemodes have a branch of pvp on them, even survival.
A player hacking on a PvP gamemode is banned for 30 days. A player hacking on a non-PvP gamemode is banned for 14 days. Some moderators have been using banned and some use temp-ban. I mean, they both work for the situation.
It depends on the mod him/her self. The mod can say temp-banned because the player is being temporary banned in the game-mode. Also, they can say the player is being banned because the player is just being banned in the game-mode as well. It just depends on the moderator which command they want to use. It doesn't really make a difference since the player is still being temporary banned on the gamemode anyways. The way I use it, is that I use temp-ban when it's 14 days or less and if it's a legit 31d ban, I use the /ban. I see no difference in them, but they can be confusing to players. Non-PvP Gamemodes are considered as : HellBlock Creative Skygrid Skyblock Parkour Basically, any server that doesn't involve PvP.
Alright, thanks. That was helpful. The moderator's choice in words when saying "banned" or "temp banned" was confusing me.
I think it would be better if it was a permanent lobby ban on any gamemode, because if they hack on a non-PvP gamemode. What's stopping them from hacking on a PvP gamemode?
I am pretty sure others have stated this but it is 14 days for hacking on a non PvP related gamemode (Skyblock, Hellblock, Parkour, Creative, Skygrid) Every other gamemode has PvP related mechanics so would fall under a PvP related gamemode which is a month ban from that mode. A second offense on a gamemode like Skyblock would be a month whereas a second offense on a PvP gamemode would be perm. Hope this answers your question.
So, are minigames, such as Bedwars, a temporary ban or a month ban? I recently reported SerosMaster for hacking on Bedwars and she was temporarily banned for three days.
What Max said. When I tempban people in game I usually just say banned on the reports. But other mods do tempbanned on the reports for the same offense that I "banned" for.
