I just realized that the "How old are you?" question is missing from the moderator application template, was this on purpose or did someone edit it out by mistake? Now that I'm looking at other's applications I may just be crazy and added it on my own. But I could have sworn it was there before. Add it back or nah? Currently the template looks like this: Please fill out the template, or your app will be ignored. Your in-game name: What timezone are you in? What country do you live in? What languages do you speak? Do you have 2FA enabled? Yes/No Do you have the necessary means of capturing evidence? (i.e. recording software, screenshots, etc) Why do you think you should become a mod? How long can you be active on the server everyday? How long have you been playing Mineverse? Have you ever been banned in the past? (Forums & In-game) Do you have any past experience as a moderator? Do you meet the requirements for staff? Yes/No Please do not ask to become a staff as it lower your chances becoming one.
It used to be a question? Did you guys remove it for that reason? I wasn't referring to there being a age limit for moderator, just a question asking.
Support...I wasn't sure if there was a question like that, but I think it'll be nice to have one. It would be more information for the people.
I liked seeing the ages because you could call people out for having a different age on their profile.
The argument here is that "Age doesn't matter" but it kinda does. Generally you can say it doesn't matter due to kids have grown up in the past decades and they aren't this innocent little generation people think they are. People can't really time when maturity kicks in because, we've seen very intelligent children and very immature children at the same age. So, its really hard to decide whether a person deserves staff member from the factor of their age. Now, on the flip side of the coin, personally you can assume their maturity level is pretty low by their age. In all honesty, maturity isn't very developed at a young age, just look at the forums for example. People who are of younger age, make more mistakes than mature people by disobeying rules, bad spelling, etc. So, you can kinda assume by their age they will make more mistakes than people of older age. So, with that all in mind, having a "What is your age" question wouldn't be a big factor for judging them, but it would help finding out their maturity level. So, I'd say this is a support from me.
No support, what if people don't want to share their age? I mean yes we don't want to have 9 year olds moderating the server but I think maturity is more important than age :P
While I don't see a problem with not asking the age, we could always have an age requirement and ask a question like: Are you at least "__" years of age? The age requirement wouldn't need to be set super high. We've had mods as young as 11 that have shown great maturity and responsibility. It's just an idea anyway.
I support this, if people didn't want to mention their exact age they could put a range like '9-13' to give a bit of an idea.
*cough cough* totally not Reborn *cough* -=-=- In all truth set aside, neutral. I don't see the harm in it, as people can tell how old you are, but I don't see how age can affect ones job. Hey, I was 11 when I moderated MV (and got demoted), and so did some others. This proves that you don't need to be 15 or higher to moderate a server like this, therefore age is not a big factor in your work.
