You were confused.
There were no kits/ranks for the testing. The kit that he gave you when you logged on was the beta version of the stater kit. No news yet if this kit will be edited, but based on replies and suggestions after the testing was over I am sure there will be some adjusting.

 

There is a difference between confusion and a misunderstanding.
