Hes right. I've seen players come online, mine up the money they need to rankup, but simply give it all away.
Im that case this issue has been resolved so a mod can close this. @mineterria @rachetclanks
Have you tried using MineChat on a phone? I find it useful when I get stuck in a nether portal trap online. Maybe it'll help you in this case.

the auction plugin can be set up to disallow certain items
