I had expected to be saying goodbye to him while he underwent a blood transfusion but his blood results this morning showed improvement from yesterday!(2/4)
The doctor was surprised to see any change at all and was blown away to see the results. His platelets are rising along with his red blood cells. He said we're not out of the woods yet but as long as he is responding to the medication we don't need to do a transfusion. So that is amazing news!(3/4)
I take him back in a few days for more tests to make sure he's still responding well, unless things change for the worse before.
Just want to say thank you to everyone who took the time to share Koa's story and dig in their pockets to help us. I couldn't be more thankful. We have a long way to go but I wouldn't know what to do if we hadn't gotten this help.(4/4)
