      Preface
With more and more people coming on to the Dubtrack lobby, I think it's time that the rules become more refined. Some of the current rules no longer work as fluently as they did when our Dubtrack was a quiet lobby. So, I come here to pose a few suggestions (open to tweaking) that could better the experience on DT for everybody.
      • "1. If a song gets 5 downs, it will be skipped."
In a (pretty) crowded lobby of 15+ people at night, that's not a very relevant number anymore. This rule should be changed so that a song gets skipped whenever a majority of the people in the lobby downdub the song. Abusing downdubs is also a problem, so it should be up to the staff member to decide if a song should truly be skipped. (If majority downdubs, it's up to the DJ to skip.)
      • Abusing downdubs.
As previously stated, people are prone to downdubbing songs for no reason whatever, from downdubbing within the first second of a song, or making up petty excuses to downdub. This can ruin the experience for everybody. Last night, there was a solid ten minute period of people downdubbing every single song in the queue (with them all being skipped). That's not how Dubtrack should work. Dubtrack is meant for people to be able to stream their music of preference without any real issue, unless in general it was found to be a truly bad song by the majority. I think that obvious downdub abusing should result in penalties dished out by the staff, so that people are discouraged from going on a downdub frenzy.

On a general note, if you dislike a song, don't be so hard on it. Just mute it and let other people enjoy themselves. What I've seen is that at least five people will dislike a song to have it skipped, even if other people like it; this pretty much applies for anything, which is problematic.
      • "10. No troll/parody songs."
Everyone seems to have a different interpretation of this rule. This can cause issues between the staff and majority. If a person queues a song that is not in anyway a "troll" or "parody" in their eyes, only to have it immediately skipped for falling under being a "troll" song, it's not very fair for the DJ, and it's very much possible that the staff member who skipped it misinterpreted the song. There should be a set guideline for what a troll/parody is, instead of a vague rule that can cause miscommunication in the DT lobby.
      • "7. English Songs only."
Is this rule really needed? Songs should be judged by their content, not the fact that they might not be in your native language. It just seems unnecessary and discourages people from playing perfectly good music that's not English. Dubstep in general isn't exactly English-based either, is it?
      • "4. Do not harass members."
This should be changed so it applies for anyone even if they're not in the lobby. In other words, it should blatantly say, "Do not be rude or disrespectful." Gossip and negative chatter about people who are not on DT can be just as irritating and offensive as harassment towards people in the lobby. Either way, it's hurtful and the chat in no way should be negative.
      • Disallow songs not playable in other countries/continents.
Just because one side of the lobby can listen to a song it doesn't mean other people might be able to. I hate that songs like these aren't skipped. Everyone should be able to listen to the song no matter what, and staff will only oblige to the current rules.

Feel free to add on to the list or tweak my takes on the rule changes. That's about all I've got.

Neutral, the current rules seem fine I think expect for the Abusing downdubs part.

Yeah, that's one of the main issues. Thanks for the opinion.

Oh my gosh you do not know how much I support EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE ;3; I'm tired of getting reprimanded for skipping this one song because I can never view it in my country

Yes! Support on all of them especially the abusing downdubs part, it is getting abused to often now and it is extremely annoying.

Support for all but the downdub abusing thing. If I see the song (for example) Sweat shirt, I'll down it within the first second.

I'm confused by what you mean here. If a song is disallowed in another area that affects anyone in the DT, I (and any other staff I've seen) have always skipped them. That won't change.
I agree with your thought on the majority of votes being down for a skip. Me and other mods have already mentioned this to @Exstatisfy, so we'll have to hear her thought on it.

Thanks for all the support, guys!
When I've been on DT and a song has been disallowed for some people, the mods I've seen don't skip it. Not sure if it's out of miscommunication, but I think a direct rule stating that songs like these shouldn't be allowed could potentially help out for new mods/etc. Thanks for the info!

I hate Sweatshirt just as much as the next sane person. But you have to understand that people will downdub songs for absolutely no reason whatsoever; in your case, it's that you hate Sweatshirt. And you're a hero for that. Thanks for the support, though :)

I'd probably use it more if a few or all of these were implemented. Support-
Seems like this would be complicated to calculate every time, but I do agree it should change.

Support, they need to be more specific on troll/parody songs imo, because a moderator may see a troll/parody song different to the DJ, or the community.
