You can't do that anymore, it's been disabled for your own teammates.

I think they are just disabled period I tried them on some other people not my teammates they don't work

Gaps are sometimes worth it when you have a lot of gold in your echest, and you do strategy #3, tank.
When you epearl, it takes away 2 and a half hearts. Golden apples give you absorption, and adds two hearts.

So you almost get max hearts while rushing to kill people on the other team.

 

That's the point.. Don't read it if you think it's too long
