Detailed BedWars Guide


Hello everyone! Today I will be giving a guide to the game bedwars, hopefully I cover all parts and if I miss something just say so and I’ll add it in.

I may not be the top Bedwars player, but I do play it a lot and I’m quite familiar with the game.


What is Bedwars?

Bedwars is located in the 'Minigames' section of the server, to get to it you go to your compass located in your hot bar, click on the emerald


Then click on the bed

Then you just pick the game with the most people to get sent to the minigames lobby.

Bedwars consists of 4 teams; Blue, Green, Red and Yellow who are all fighting to break each others beds. Each team starts on their own island and must build across to the other teams island.
Once your teams bed is broken you cannot re-spawn, last team standing wins.
The maximum amount of players on a team is 6.

A game needs a minimum of 12 players for a game to start and a maximum of 24.

How do you pick a team?

You may pick any of the 4 teams to be on, but if you don’t pick before the game starts you’ll be put into a random team.

To pick a team you can either:

Click on one of the 4 colored sheep.



Or use the bed located in your hot bar.

Bedwars Currency:

There are 3 main ores used for currency, some buy blocks, weapons, food, armour, potions and more.

On every island there’s a brick, iron and gold spawner, every spawner gets you different equipment to use throughout the game.

Bricks:

Every second a new brick will spawn on the brick spawner, this is the fastest spawner there is in the game.



What you can buy from using bricks:

Sandstone blocks (1 brick for 2 sandstone)

Ender stone blocks (7 Bricks for 1 Ender stone)

Glowstone blocks (15 bricks for 4 glowstone)

Glass blocks (4 bricks for 4 glass)

Leather Leggings

Leather Helmet

Leather Boots

Wooden Pickaxe (Unbreaking 1 Efficiency 1)

Stick (Knockback 1)

Apple

Steak

Steak (2 bricks for one steak)

Ladder

Cobweb (16 bricks for one cobweb)


Iron:

Iron isn’t the fastest spawner, but it is pretty quick and can be used for numerous reasons. It’s mostly used for armour, tools and weapons.



What you can buy from using iron:

Iron block (9 iron for 1 iron block)

Level 1 Chainmail chestplate (1 iron for 1 lvl1 chestplate) (protection 1 unbreaking 1)

Level 2 Chainmail chestplate (3 iron for 1 lvl2 chestplate) (Protection 2 unbreaking 1)

Level 3 Chainmail chestplate (7 Iron for 1 lvl3 chestplate) (Protection 3 unbreaking 1)

Stone Pickaxe (Efficiency 1 unbreaking 1) (2 iron for 1 pickaxe)

Level 1 golden sword (1 iron for 1 lvl1 sword) (Sharpness 1 unbreaking 1)

Level 2 golden sword (3 iron for 1 lvl2 sword) (Sharpness 2 unbreaking 1)

Cake (1 iron for 1 cake)

Chest (1 iron for 1 chest)

Level 1 Health Potion (3 iron for one lvl1 health potion) (Heals 2 hearts)

Level 2 Health Potion (5 Iron for one lvl2 health potion) (Heals 4 hearts)

Speed potion (7 iron for 1 speed potion) (Increases speed by 20%)

Fishing Rod (5 iron for 1 fishing rod)

Flint'n'Steel (7 iron for 1 Flint'n'Steel)

Gold:

Gold is the best spawner in the game, you can buy the most OP items using gold. Although gold is the slowest spawner and it will take a while for you to get a lot of it, it is the most useful and if you have a good amount of it you will get the best items in the game.
NOTE: Not every island will have a gold spawner, you may have to get gold from the middle island.



What you can buy from using gold:

Iron pickaxe (1 gold for one pickaxe) (Efficiency 3 unbreaking 1)

Iron sword (5 gold for 1 Iron sword) (Sharpness 2 Unbreaking 1 Knockback 1)

Level 1 bow (3 gold for 1 bow) (Infinity 1)

Level 2 bow (7 Gold for 1 bow) (Infinity 1 Power 1)

Level 3 Bow (13 Gold for 1 bow) (Power 1 infinity 1 Punch 1)

Arrow (1 gold for 1 arrow)

Golden Apple (Regular) (2 Gold for 1 golden apple) (Regeneration 2 for 5 seconds / Absorbtion 1 for 2 minutes)

Enderchest (1 gold for 1 enderchest)

Strength Potion (3 minutes of 130% increased damage) (7 Gold for 1 Strength Potion)

TNT (3 gold for 1 TNT)

Enderpearl (13 Gold for 1 enderpearl)


How to buy:

To buy resources such as blocks, armour, food etc, you need to click on your villager which is located inside your base.



Every item costs a different amount of gold, iron or bricks depending on how valuable it is in the game.


A few good strategies

As you may know Bedwars is a team work related game, if you guys don’t work together the chances of you being successful is low.
There are many strategies that can be used whilst playing Bedwars, but I'll only be listing 3.


Strategy No. 1 – Speed building

Speed building is commonly used by players who have bricks or blocks left in their ender chest from a previous game.

As soon as the game starts get your blocks and quickly build over to another team and attempt to break their bed, it’s really easy to break the bed because most teams aren’t always prepared for another team to be coming so early in the game.

This strategy is really helpful, if you don’t get it the first time and you die, go back with an ender pearl to speed things up before they get you!


Strategy No. 2 – Camping

Camping isn’t my favorite strategy, but if you’re being attacked by another team it can be very useful.

If you’re trying to camp my tips are:

· Build high walls so they can’t ender pearl easily

· Have a bow and arrow read

· Make sure you have a sword and some armour on

· Be ready, they could come out of nowhere ;)

Camping can be boring at times, but it is a good way to keep your bed safe.


Strategy No. 3 – Tank

Tank isn’t a very common used strategy, but it is very useful.

Basically you gear up to the max, get the best sword, Armour, potions, ender pearl, pickaxe and once you’re geared you rush to an island and you’ll be quite unstoppable.


Rules

-Do not use unbreakable blocks to protect your bed

-Do not cuss

-Do not use excessive caps

-Do not use any form of hacked client

-Mods that are allowed: Optifine, 5zig, Health/Damage indicators, Armour HUD, Toggle sprint

-Do not attempt to go to go outside of the map

-Do not kill your teammates

-Do not ruin the game for your teammates by "trolling" them.

-Do not stand where a block is being placed when you're a spectator (Known as spec-blocking)

-Spawnkilling IS allowed if necessary.

- Same rules for every gamemode still apply (May have listed a few already)

Torchwood's top tips! :p

• Never use a bow without armour
• Gaps usually aren't worth it, save your Gold for Strength pots
• Cheapest full set of armour is only 4 iron, have a chest full of it if you die and need to be geared up fast

And the number 1 top tip that my friends have probably heard me say a million times, "Play the bed, not that player"


Easter egg: If you break through the glowstone above the Gold spawner in Temple, you will find my Head at green and @Alex s head at blue

Fishing rods should be taken out if bed-wars, because many people 'fish' their teammates off their own islands.
