OK so, the new chat filter is total . After I realized how the word 'gay' is filtered, I was shocked. What is bad with being gay? Gay is a way of sexual orientation. I have no idea who on earth got the idea of filtering gay, because I personally think it is discriminating towards gay people. Being gay is hard to get along with in real life already. Gay people are often depressive due to the hard discriminating, unrespectful people around the world. I hope most people understand my viewpoint. That's why I would like to discuss about the idea of removing this as a filtered word. @YRVintage Feel free to comment your opinion below. ~Hisashi
I agree but most of the insults they use are '' and stuff like that. I myself am gay but I don't think they mean to block it cause they think its bad? Just so people don't use it in the wrong way perhaps. Although some other things like the /warp on parkour is annoying because you can't type it 2 times in a row without typing something else :/

What are you talking about not the top two or three who are their friends? I quite certain it was removed because of the way people use it. 9 times out of 10, when people say the word gay, it is not meant in any way except negative. Usually its used as if to slander someone. Also, on a family friendly server, what does one need to use a term to discuss sexual orientation?
^ Minecraft is not for telling people your gay. The word has been abused and too many people are misusing the word, so it should've been blocked
It was only removed because of it being overused as an insult towards other players, only us, the community can blame ourselves, we can't blame the owners since it's our thought. Hopefully one day, when our community can calm down on the toxicity in-game it can be added back, but for now, I don't think it's going to be added back for a long time.
^ When people actually realize how to use the word, then it can be unblocked, but that isn't going to happen any time soon
I hate to admit it, but I gotta agree with you. The toxicity is too much and people will always misuse the word "gay". it isn't just Mineverse that misuses the word.
Things like this happen because some people can't control themselves. When people overuse the word 'gay' as an insult, it's bound to get removed and the use of the word in non-harassment ways is ruined for everyone else. The most used sentence including the word is probably something like 'Omg you're so gay' and not 'I am gay' or 'I am feeling very gay today!' So of course it's not going to be uncensored for the minor percentage of the community who use the word for good and honestly it's the best thing for now.
This new chat filter seems to be causing lots of problems, there are many discussions on why words are filtered.
It could potentially hurt someone, yeah it also means happy but some people take great offense with it.
