When making reports (pt. 2)

Making reports, pretty simple.
Right?
Well, that's what you would think.
But, the amount of people that believe they don't have to:

• Fill out the format and,
• Include full screenshots/evidence
• Keep the videos up

Is increasing.

We take our time to do these reports for you, the least you could do is use the template and provide a full screenshot.

Full screenshots
This is the main part of the thread. You need full screenshots/evidence. You think you can get away with only providing half of what happened, or attempt to trim your screen. They are required because some people aren't who they seem to be; there could be a whole part to the report that the reporter left out.
For all we know, they could be hacking and they're trying to cover it up.

This isn't even that hard, you take a screenshot using the MC built-in function, then drag it into the report.

Report format
Feel as if you're too cool to use the report form?
Cool.
I guess we're 'too cool' to complete the reports.
This is under a 10 second process. All you have to do is control c, control v the format into the report. The format can be found here.

Keeping the videos up
Recently, we have had some users who have made a few reports, but decided to remove the video.
It's nice that you were able to take your time to upload, and post it. But seriously, why would you delete it?
It's the only thing keeping them banned.
Upon appeal, they will be unbanned.


Overall, if you can't take the few extra seconds to do what was stated above, you shouldn't be making the reports.

Neutral. This is a bit rude for oficial MineVerse threads standars. But i agree with everything it states.

Oh and btw, people can abuse the "full screenshot" because minecraft doesn't nessesary show full chat while you are playing. It is only when you press "t" or whatever enables you to chat to see the full chat.

 

I think you're looking past the fact that people reporting others, uploading videos, ect takes time as well. They're helping the server, and they're not even obliged to - as a mod, you have to do reports. People don't have to report. They're helping out. It's not hard to interpret a report.

If someone's providing valid evidence, I doubt you're going to sit there and deny a report due to the fact that a 'format' is not there. I know that when I used to report ppl, at one time I may have 30 tabs open reporting people. It actually does take time to do copy and paste the format and fill it out for each individual, but that's besides the point. You can't sit here and say that you mods are 'too cool' to do reports because people aren't filling out formats.

While I don't necessarily agree with the wording TADS used, what he's saying still has merit. I sincerely doubt everyone who makes a report does so at the caliber you are. Filling out the format is easy and takes seconds. Sure, maybe the person making the report is taking their time into uploading a video, but its simple to just leave it running while doing other things. Moreover, I think you might be forgetting that mods, err.. mod voluntarily. While they did commit to this job, they're humans too and following a simple format is the least a player could do when attempting to report someone. Mods deal with so many reports daily, man.. Really, it's not asking for much.
