SnakeVenomPvP’s Moderator Application Introduction: Hello everyone, I am SnakeVenomPvP, I am 15 years old, and I have been playing Mineverse for about a year and a half. Throughout this year and a half, I have met many amazing people who became some of my greatest friends on Minecraft to this day. But I have also met many not so friendly people such as scammers and hackers. This is why I have now decided that it was time for me to apply for mod. I enjoy many of the game modes daily, but I would have to say that my favorite is infection. I would just like to say a few things about responding to my application; I want any feedback that you guys have to say. If you find a single grammar/spelling error tell me please (although I hope there are none to be found because I just spent $30 on a grammar checker called Grammarly and if it doesn’t work well I will be disappointed.) If you believe I am inactive on forums or in game, then I would love to schedule a time to meet up with you in any game mode you want so we can get to know each other a bit more. Just please don’t just say “No Support.” please say something like “No Support because reason one reason two reason 3 and so on.” I want to be able to improve on my application and not just be left there to wonder what I did wrong. I am only fluent in English, but I am currently learning French and Spanish. Do you have the necessary means of capturing evidence? (i.e. recording software, screenshots, etc.) Yes, I have a Mac, it provides many basic kinds of software that allow me to do these things. On a Mac Command Shift F4 takes a screenshot, and there is an installed software called QuickTime player that allows me to record people. Why do you think you should become a mod? There are countless reasons to why I would love to become a mod and to why I believe that I should be a mod. I have three favorite game modes, KitPvp, OpPvp, and infection. On KitPvp and OpPvp as many of you know, you encounter countless hackers. It is not only like this on KitPvp and OpPvp, but it is like this on every other game mode. Hackers destroy everyone’s in game experience and many it, so the server is a lot less fun to play. With this, I believe we need more moderators to catch the countless number of hackers that the average player will encounter on a daily basis. Although our moderator team bans a countless number of hackers each day, the problem persists seemingly unaffected. We need to add more staff members to fix this issue. Not only are there hackers but there are other kinds of rule breakers such as scammers, spammers, and advertisers. I would also like to help eradicate this group of rule breakers. I have personally been scammed out of over ten million dollars on OpFactions all at once. This was one of the worst days of my life on Mineverse. Scamming is not allowed so we need to focus on eradicating this problem to. Scamming happens to people every single day. Spammers are also a major problem, it just makes in game interaction hard. If your friend sends you a message and the chat is being spammed with messages it will be hard to read that message. Now for the positive side of being a moderator. I would love to be able to get on every day and not only stop rule breakers but also help the new members of our community that need help and ask questions (even though I already try my best to do this) being a moderator would enable me to go to a whole new level of helping people because when you are a moderator people actively search you out for help and I feel that I am ready for this primary responsibility of helping players to my fullest ability. We need more moderators, with over a thousand plus members coming on a day we NEED more moderators to help keep this influx of people under control or our server will be inundated with hackers and we will not be able to continue as a server. Now here are a few more specific reasons for why I think I should be a moderator on our excellent server. Helpful I am always ready to help any player who needs aid and will go to the farthest extent to get a player something he or she needs. I frequently answer questions for newer players who don’t know the answers to certain things. I will always try to the full extent of my power to make any members stay on Mineverse a fun, enjoyable stay on our server. Active I am an incredibly active player in game and on forums. Whenever I am needed, I will be ready to pounce on a problem and resolve it. If I am not on game, then I will be doing one of two things. Looking at forums and replying to various kinds of threads or I will be on mine chat (to everyone that doesn’t know what mine chat is, it is an iPhone app that allows me to talk on our servers chat but not be in game). I play at least 5 hours a day even on school nights. Dedicated I am a dedicated player, since the first day I have joined this server I can say that I have been active and helpful. Being dedicated is an essential trait that our server needs to have in it’s moderators. If I start a job, I will work and not stop until I get what need’s being done, done. Hard-working I am hard-working. This is another key trait that is greatly needed for a moderator to be successful at his job. You will need to be willing to put in the hours to get everything you need to have done, done. With this, I will moderate for 5 hours plus a day, and I will continually strive to make our server a better place for everyone. If there are 20 new reports on the report section of our forums I will along with all my other fellow moderators, and work for hours to make sure that each thread is read and given fair, unbiased judgement and to make sure that I don’t ban someone who doesn’t deserve to be banned or mute someone who did nothing. I will work to make sure that I give my opinion on every single thread in forums sections such as suggestions and moderator applications. Calm Being calm is a MAJOR trait that you need to have when you are a moderator on Mineverse. In a tight situation, you will need to be calm to think logically and not make any illogical mistakes. When you are a moderator, you could be inundated with messages and quite possibly insults from other players who disagree with your point of views. In situations like this you need to remain calm and systematically answer each question and simply ignore the insults from the other players. Along with this, you will need to be calm in situations such as being killed. You can not rage and start cussing and insulting other people; you need to keep your head and stay calm. In all of these situations, I will remain calm and make sure that I think logically about what I will do next. Honest You need to be honest not with just others but yourself also. Honesty is the true key trait. When you are judging a report or a ban appeal, you will need to be honest with yourself and no think about things that will affect your decision. If this player that is being reported has been rude to you in the past, you will still need to make sure that you are unbiased and fair towards them so that you do not unfairly ban someone. Responsible To be a moderator, you need to be responsible. Some nights you may have to stay up late to get work done such as reading and accepting/denying ban appeals or reports. I will always make sure that I do my fair share of work on the moderator team. Being responsible is not only this but also not reacting to players insults on the game or just simply message them back saying I respect your opinion I will do my best to be better. You can not be irresponsible and mess up the way Mineverse looks to the average player. Moderators are the face of our server so we must act accordingly and make sure we do not damage that image. Aware When I am a moderator, I will be aware of everything that is happening on the server and make sure I understand the situation at hand before jumping to any rash decisions/conclusions on what a player has done. I will make sure I am aware of all the information before doing something I will regret. Mature Although I am only 15 years old, I am considered mature among my peers and superiors. In school, I am on my student council that is composed of people that have all the following traits listed above. I try my best never to cuss in game, and I will never cuss. I look down upon people who cuss generally because it is an immature thing. I will always make sure I am mature in game and on forums so that Mineverses players know how they should act on the server. All of these traits listed above are vital to having a good moderator and although I will admit I am not perfect (even though I would like to think I am) I do have all of these traits listed above, and I feel like I will be the perfect person to be one of Mineverses next moderators. How long can you be active on the server everyday? I can be active every day for a minimum of 4 hours but here is a more detailed list of exactly what I can do approximately each day. In game Monday - 3 t0 6 hours Tuesday - 4 to 7 hours Wednesday - 5 to 7 hours Thursday - 2 to 4 hours Friday - 6 to 9 hours Saturday - 7 to 10 hours Sunday - 4 to 7 hours Forums (I have two computers, so I can be actively looking at both Monday - 3 to 6 hours Tuesday - 4 to 7 hours Wednesday - 4 to 6 hours Thursday - 2 to 4 hours Friday - 6 to 10 hours Saturday - 7 to 13 hours Sunday - 4 to 10 hours Minechat for all days 15 minutes to 1 hour Now remember of course there will be exceptions to this list, I could play longer or shorter. How long have you been playing Mineverse? I have been playing Mineverse for a year and a half. My old friend Haste_PvP introduced me to it, but he has since quit Minecraft. Have you ever been banned in the past? (Forums & In-game) Yes, sadly I have been banned once in game from OpFactions. Now let me explain to you exactly what happened and I know even in my story I did make several mistakes I did deserve to be banned. I gave my account information to a buddy of mine who goes to the same school as me. I did not know that he hacked but apparently he did. I eventually got unbanned by xSoulHero after he kindly accepted my apology for making this mistake and I have since then never been banned, and I do not plan on ever being banned again. I am humiliated of this and will never make such a mistake again. Do you have any past experience as a moderator? Yes, I have a vast amount of experience as a moderator. On one server specifically, I was a moderator for about six months until I was then trusted enough to become a head moderator then another three months later I was trusted even more and was moved up to the position of admin. Throughout these nine months, I grew to know every single command you could think of that you would need to be a moderator on Mineverse. This server is still running today, but I resigned within a week of joining Mineverse so that I could divert more time here instead of there. Sounds like you're treating hackers like the black plague to be honest, you don't really address anything besides hackers and I haven't seen you on all that much, even on the servers you said you focus on the most. No support for now, might change in the future.
Hackers hurt servers greatly. Just saying and I just recently about a week ago really got into kit pvp and op pvp so I may not be to well known there yet but I am working on it. Would you like to meet me sometime in game and we can talk? But when I say hackers hurt the server, they really do HURT the server. Of anything I've seen in chat being complained about the most, it is hacking. Thank you for your feedback.
Hypixel has 50k players and there's an endless abundance of hackers on there, I wouldn't say hackers make that big of an impact if the server is good enough and is maintained.
That is true but this is not Hypixel we are a tiny bit more localized, everyone knows a good chunk of the server and yea things are different here then on Hypixel.
Neutral. - Only seen you a few times in-game, maybe give some other games some love? - You focus only on hackers, which isn't bad, but try to open up to some other things you could do as a mod :p - Suggestion: Try not to make the font color so, bright? I'm not sure that you live up to some of these traits, and I feel like most of the things you do on the forums is to make yourself look good to become mod, but I feel like if you got promoted, that you would not display these traits. You seem too desperate. I know you think being moderator would be cool, but it's more of a job than something you have for show and fame. I have seen that you're somewhat immature in-game, and advertising your application is a no-no in my opinion (It's on your profile) Could you please honest with your response to this question: http://www.mineverse.com/threads/this-one-is-for-the-mods.68538/ In this thread, you were telling people to respect moderators more, which I appreciate, but in the conversation you were asking me what it's like to be moderator, and asking for advice that (In my opinion) you should have answered yourself. Because of some of the answers I gave you, I feel like you might have lied to make your application seem better. So the question is, were you really trying to appreciate moderators, or were you asking for things that you might be able to lie about, but tried to cover it up with an interview? I will answer that question in one second. EDIT: Okay here is my answer, first to the trying to appreciate moderators. Yes I was actually trying to appreciate moderators because the day I was that all on one game mode I saw at least 10 insults on some specific moderators and some directed at the entire moderator team. I was sickened to see this and was furious that people can be so rude to the people that stand between Mineverse being a nice server and Mineverse falling into complete chaos. Answer to second question, I was no asking for things that I could lie about, although I can't prove this you will just have to believe or disbelieve my answer. Support, very organized, and i do see you on Infection most of the time. But maybe you could add in something else, dont make it all about hackers.
