I just got MVP and went onto Prison. On the side where it says my balance and rankup cost, it says my current rank is mvp and my rankup cost is $0. So, I try to reset my prison rank with the sign about c-prisoner, but it doesn't work. So I go to my next option. I have had 56k, and clicked the rank-up to c-prisoner, thinking it wont take my money and just return my rank. But what really happens is that it takes my money, ranks me up, and now I'm down to 6k! I'm pretty sure your rank isn't actually affected, it just looks that way. Once you rank up in prison again it fixes it.
