On 4/28/15, I kicked my friend from my island. I tried to add her back but it kept saying "You can't invite anymore players". I filed a help report and someone said the bug would be fixed in the near future. It is now 12/19/15 and it still has yet to be fixed. I currently have no one added to this island.
