      Yeh, I believe the reason behind this is because the IP becomes banned, and if you have an IP that is the same as a banned player, e.g. spambot, the IP is banned instead of the user itself.

      It happened to me once when I created my account, I just waited a day or two and it got fixed so just wait, I guess.

      Seeing as your question has been answered I am going to close this thread.
      Our Co-Owner has been working with XenForo Developers to get this fixed, so hopefully it will be fixed soon and your friend will be able to sign up. :)
