No. My friend pranked me and changed my name and i didnt loose anything. But if your on prison or fac you will loose Mc skills like disarming, swords etc. And plots

I think it's 20% that you lose and
80% tnt you won't lose anything.
I changed my username twice, and didn't lose anything. Not even my rank on some servers...
I think you should try it.
