Greetings Mineversians, There's an huge conversation happening online regarding world-wide domination and world-war 3 happening within a few years. Back in 1939, when Hitler invaded Poland. Or when the U.S Army invaded Vietnam. Those were battles fought by hand, not by machine. (reference to combat protocol droids, Drone Command, etc). When Germany created the Siegfried Line and created the Luftwaffe (Air force) he produced a massive army from men to machine. This was the beginning of war fought by air, land, and sea combined. The entire world got to show off it's military strength. But on the sixth of June, 1944 the (occupied) Western Europe got to whiteness the combined strength of Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America. The first attack by Frogmen (Nowadays called Navy SEALS) by disabling the underwater mines to prevent any invasion boat from coming to shore. Then, the combined air force of the allied invasion wiped out most of Germany's defense. Then, finally, 156,000 troops stormed the beaches of Normandy, fighting against the Atlantic Wall which was created to defend against this type of assault. Armored vehicles were also present, yet didn't assist in the first wave of attack which destroyed the German defenses. Today, if such event would occur again, we wouldn't see 156,000 soldiers risking their life to free an occupied country/city/nation. After politics have failed, NATO would send out multiple submarines, B-2 Stealth Bombers, F-22 Raptors (or F-18 Hornets if they feel cheap) and helicopters to drop in soldiers. Let's take Afghanistan for example. The U.S military risks their men going out every day knowing they could be shot at any moment. An exact 1.1 Trillion is being spent on handling barbarians every day using modern technology. How come we destroyed the largest empire modern within one year, but fail to destroy a barbarian cult in 5 years (an increasing). How strong is each military these days, and how well equipped are they? Those are answers I'd like to discuss in this thread. Topic #1. Who has the strongest, most powerful army in the world? (navy, army, air force, etc) A lot of people assume that the U.S has the most powerful, and most advanced military to date. But are they actually that strong? We see an increase in technology every day and not just in the U.S. But also in China, India, Russia, Germany, France, The Netherlands, you name it! Countries like to show off their army to other nations to scare or impress them. For example China, Russia, and North Korea. Their military parades are watched worldwide and and show their latest advancements in today's wars. Most commonly people assume the ranking goes #1 U.S.A #2 Russia #3 China #India. But if this is actually true hasn't been proven yet. People like to believe their country can conquer them all, defend itself against any adversary, and have the biggest army to rule the world. But if going to war means sitting behind a desk, controlling a drone like CoD 3 means war, then I got 200,000 teenagers who are fit to join the army! (Note: I am aware this saves lives by not sending in troops) What's your opinion about this? Topic #2 Does size matter? Many people believe China could easily win a war against the U.S because of its military personal (2,285,000) and technology. But what would happen if NATO through a cluster-bomb on their military parade? (A cluster-bomb is a bomb which explodes, releasing hundreds of tiny bombs capable of destroying any living creature if in reach). Then WOOSH BOOM goes their army. So does the size actually matter, or is it the technology that saves/takes life? What's your opinion about this? Topic #3 Most advanced technology. Technology has expanded beyond anyone's imagination. It isn't just gadgets that you use every day (i.e digital watch, iPhone, etc) but also military technology that has advanced over the years. For example: F-22 Raptor is the most advanced stealth fighter to date operational overseas by the U.S air force (and correct me if I am wrong) also used by the French and India. Stealth Technology has made air force incredibly powerful, making it dodge almost every S.A.M (Surface to Air Missile). But Star Wars fans watch out, you're going to love this. The U.S navy has mounted an actual laser installed on the USS Ponce (pictures are below). Rumors are of actual combat fit droids to fight tomorrow's war. What's your opinion about this? Topic #4 Special Forces. We've all heard of Special Forces. Most famous are: Navy SEALS, S.A.S, Spetznas, MARSOC, Israelian Commando. But who is worthy of calling them self the strongest, and most advanced special forces on earth? What's your opinion about this? U.S Military Strength. Russia Military Strength. USS Ponce Laser. China Military Strength. " This thread is for conversational purpose only. Any off-topic/flame comments will be removed. If any hate comments are posted down below I will delete them.
I was editing and I accidentally clicked ''Post''. Felt it was fair to close this thread before it actually opened.
I can see this thread turning into a HUGE flamewar. I am here to provide a few sources so that doesn't have to occur. http://www.businessinsider.com/the-worlds-most-powerful-militaries-2014-12 http://nationalinterest.org/feature/the-5-most-powerful-armies-planet-earth-11632 http://www.shockpedia.com/29-most-powerful-armies-in-the-world/ http://warrior.scout.com/story/1422319-10-most-powerful-militaries-in-the-world
This thread won't turn into a ''HUGE'' flamewar at all. In fact, I as a moderator created this, so I can remove the comments.
Russia is only close to our strength (USA) because they have many Nuclear weapons just like us and their technology is still obsolete compared to ours . China is using old Russian surplus, they on the other hand have the numbers when it comes to troops. USA still has the Strongest military of all. We have more aircraft carriers than the rest of the world combined, most advanced technology, and have outstanding soldiers.
AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE OI OI OI. We are the most secure country with our Nukes. We barley have any. We're a peaceful country. But agressive. So AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE. OI OI OI and AMERICA!
