      The cow spawner in the shop gives you a pig spawner, not sure about the others as I've not had yet had chance to test them, but I bought 2 cow spawners and got pig both times.

      Also, would it be possible to put hostile mob spawners up for sale?

      This issue has been going on since before I was mod and is still going on long after.
      Cypriot was able to fix the issue on the survival server.
      Maybe he can fix it on factions soon as well. @CypriotMerks

      I guess it'll be resolved when the spawners are actually fixed, but good shout on the hostile mob spawners suggestion thread, I'll get on that now
