    Mineterria has a point, and it usually gets redundant to keep constantly saying "I agree", "I disagree", especially if people just leave it at that and don't expant on what they agree on (but I guess people do that anyway at times?). The ratings keep things short and sweet, and it's usually easier for me to use since I usually don't have much to say on topics that aren't in my area of preferance. I also haven't been a victim of rating abuse so my point of view of things are probably different from those who have.
    I'm usually stingy about what I rate anyway. . .
