Not now, but when Mineverse permanently shuts down, announce it a month ahead of time, and have a large event where people can gather for one last goodbye to the server. This event would last for a week, and people should be encouraged to bring their friends, download their old creative plots, and look around the maps for the last time. There's a lot of servers which suddenly shut down without warning, so it would be great if Mineverse could go out with a bang rather than out of nowhere. Btw I'm not saying Mineverse will shut down anytime soon, but when it does, there should be a big event.
wishful thinking? How often has a server shut down, publicly knowing in advance the decision was to close? If a reunion is wanted, might there be another way short of a server closing? Change is constant, the server will never return to what it was, rebirth/evolve is the path to continued growth, and sustained life? This is more a discussion point, not a suggest?
if the server were to close, i imagine it would be from someone else entirely buying the network, and/or from lack of money to sustain it. which i can't picture there being a large enough grace period for either tbh i could see it happening but how could it logically if there was no money-grab to it? and who wants to spend money on something that's knowingly about to cease to exist. but in theory, this would be beautiful
I mean at this point the servers just burning a hole in crews pocket, not that its a lack of money (im sure he can pay for it easily) but logically its a bit goofy for him to continue running it for years on end like this
I imagine crew would know when the right time to close the server is, and would plan around that. As for rebirth/evolution, I agree that it's the way forward. However, 99% of Minecraft servers as old as Mineverse have already shut down (hell, even Mineplex has shut down), and it's highly likely that Mineverse will eventually shut down too. Java multiplayer has been declining for a very long time. I do think crew cares enough about the server to where he would be willing to host this. But yeah there would be no money grab in this scenario.
