I've already stated countless good suggestions so I'll dumb it down here. I feel like maybe we can make the spawn more spacious, like the draft one I built here or something similar. I see no need why there needs to be a little pillar where players spawn in, a nice spacious and minimalistic spawn would be good, doesn't need to be crazy. Here are some examples of a quick concept spawn I built. I feel like it's more lively and spacious but things can be changed of course. Spoiler: Op Spawn Draft The map is and always will be fine but maybe add some signs around the map that assist players in PvP. For example, having a 'Utilities' kit sign where players can approach these signs, and pay a fee to get a 'Utilities' kit which contains a small supply of gapples, potions, and pearls to help in PvP. I feel like this adds a lot more purpose to the map. Maybe put Legendary keys in dragon eggs with a high rarity of getting them. I think that would be cool and I know you can get Epic Keys in them which is also quite rare. We could even use Ultra Keys to purchase Epic and Legendary keys ( 64 ultra = 1-2 epic and so on ) obviously we would change the trading rate but 64:1 is an example. We keep s40s but make them harder to attain. s30s have always been good enough to play OP how it's meant to be played. s35s will always be a game changer so I'm sure we can survive grinding harder to get the best sword in the game plus it makes it fairer for newer players. This whole Anti-Loot plugin would just be a waste of time in my opinion. Killing players and grabbing loot in general is a part of the game, wouldn't be right to use plugins to change that. It sucks when players steal our loot from kills but let's be honest we've all done it. It would also just make the game boring and less competitive and we've all always played OP competitively so let's not ruin that. Definitely remove the border, it was always nice to just get away now and then out of the map and just chill, back in the day when we would host custom-made team fights and put money on them (in game). It's just nice getting away from the action now and again. I don't think rods should be added to be honest. Not because I can't use them but they defeat the purpose of OP standing out from other game modes. There are rods on KitPvP and people are a nightmare with them, it'll just ruin OP as rods were never a problem on it. I agree with Prod Brodie about duels and I've mentioned it countless times. If they're set up right they can be a lot of fun, can be used as another way of earning money, settling beef, and countless other reasons. It'll also give the game mode more diversity as well and more to do. Add back and rework the leaderboards. It would be good for players to earn rewards for placing on the leaderboards. I feel like we should up the rewards though, and make people work for the top spot. Maybe if a player can hold the top spot for a number of hours/days they get a big reward. This'll motivate players to play more competitively and make the server feel alive again. (Prod Brodie's idea)
All you need to do is a slight change to spawn make chests more accessible and keep s40's (make them much harder to get) change below spawn the main area of pvp should be much more flat and versatile with less slabs to glitch on possibly add more ganks (Caves/basements to the houses possibly) Facs/gangs should definitely be looked into as team pvp is a big part of the server even tho it wasnt fully fleshed out last time. the map doesnt need to necessarily change to an extreme amount but small changes can make the map feel refreshing too the og players and ones that are used to the map (you can add new buildings/parts of buildings) an example would be the stadium that was never fully finished on the inside and was all wool and glowstone you could finish that out and make it an arena for dueling and team fights (this would also bring life to other parts of the map so it would be full used instead of everyone hovering below spawn) as for leaderboards keep them somewhat the same but add obviously ones for dueling of you put that in the game ofc, custom kill messages can be whatever you guys prefer tbh aslong as they are not TOO strict about them limit being slurs etc, I also thing earnable titles should be added in like you complete an extremely difficult task and are rewarded with a title. anything else is up to you guys.
I would like to add that a filter plugin that allow you to choose what you items gets into your inventory on the floor when you walk onto loot. Would be great for not flooding your inventory if you guys don’t put that anti loot steal plugin.
One thing that I think you guys should add to op and to kit pvp is it drops random items every hour to 30 minutes but to one person so that people will leave their accounts on the server when they are not playing so people see that there are people on and wont just leave if they see 30 people on. It would make it more popular.
OP has the priority for now. Hopefully following a player bounce after release, we can look into getting Kitpvp online and possibly infection too.
Suggest small modifications and work in other ideas as needed/voted. We know you are all trying your best, just know you aren't going to make it perfect right away and you aren't going to please everyone. Have a tag for us OG players and I want to keep my stash! Agreed with @rent; leaderboard, remove the boarder, even have a non-pvp area within the map. Have a spot like Minetime did for 1v1 battles that others can watch and not get in the way or help/harm. Have a spot that spits out gapples or other trinkets. If you do change the map have a rotation of maps, maybe once a week. Have others contribute maps that would be voted on. It should be a smaller map. Maybe this should be an idea for kitpvp.
honestly I had no issue w/ how OP PvP was structured back then. definitely consider removing /heal and as questionable as this may sound, consider an unban for everyone. also would be nice if you provided us all with a timeline so we can all manage our expectations;)
Have more transparency between players and like that mf above me said give us a timeline. Getting closer to 3 months since you guys announced op was being released “very soon.” Not to mention infection just got wiped off the face of the earth for over a year. Tell us how far along things are with the stuff that’s been in development for MONTHS or let this server die in peace. Atom is a bald bozo. EDIT: Simply scrolling through the changelogs channel in the discord proves my point fairly well. The last "decent" content update we got was all the way back in January on the 7th. I'm actually convinced there's been more "semi-pointless" updates like discord changes or forums changes no one really asked for rather than in-game changes. There's almost no point in these changes if there isn't even an active loyal player base (or new-coming players) too use said changes. ^^ Even with this, realistically, this brought basically 0 new players. Now, for the last actually decent content updates(plural) we received can be seen below. Go through them and see what was introduced and then look at the servers player count. https://forums.mineverse.com/threads/mineverse-updates-august-10th-2022.162544/ https://forums.mineverse.com/threads/mineverse-updates-july-24th-2022.162462/ (If this even counts) https://forums.mineverse.com/threads/mineverse-updates-june-12th-2022.162337/ (anti-cheat) https://forums.mineverse.com/threads/mineverse-updates-may-1st-2022.162218/ (/nick) https://forums.mineverse.com/threads/mineverse-updates-march-30th-2022.162188/ (anti-cheat & transperency) https://forums.mineverse.com/threads/mineverse-updates-january-24th-2022.162124/ (anti-cheat/skyblock) https://forums.mineverse.com/threads/mineverse-updates-january-15th-2022.162097/ (kitpvp) https://forums.mineverse.com/threads/mineverse-updates-june-28th-2021.161656/ (skyblock) If you really wanna get deep - https://forums.mineverse.com/threads/mineverse-updates-june-19th-2021.161607/ Honorable Mentions! #1. Blocks Vs Zombies gamemode that was released that is currently down. #2. Several Staff changes? (Makes no sense since there's nothing too moderate) #3 Prison gamemode gets released (highly anticipated) just too receive 0 updates after a while and turn into a wasteland #4 Earth? I honestly have no idea what this gamemode was even meant to be and it's just another wasteland. Might as well leave up infection at that point and develop it on the side so people have something actually fun to play. That's all folks. I'll be back.
Thanks for your concern and I 100% agree with you. In terms of a timeline, all I can really just say is that we're working as fast as we can right now to release OP. There is no "ETA", and we do not want to give false hope. I understand that we had an "OP-PvP is coming back very soon" announcement posted a few months ago but we had some ups and downs with the release and work that we had to delay it - unfortunately I am not going to be able to go further into this and I know this kind of takes away the point of transparency but it's just something I do not think I can discuss. I do hope you realize that we have a separate discord team that has no relation to in-game changes whatsoever so any changes made on our Discord server is really just work from our discord team and myself. These so called "semi-pointless" changes are to cater for whatever active community we have on the discord server so that way that platform doesn't die down either. In terms of the forum, it's mainly me who is adding the changes to it since I have "a lot" of experience since I was a forum administrator before stepping up to be a global administrator. The changes made here are simply changes I want to add or are from existing suggestions/ideas. Our administrative team is not forum-focused, we understand that in-game suggestions exist and we are not brushing them off. In terms of OP-PvP, I will note that we have paid close attention to it and have noted down things that we feel will add a difference to OP-PvP when released and attract more users. I'll be transparent and list them: Updating the map Changing crate rewards Adding a parkour area Reducing the Punch V bow level to something lower Quests Daily/Weekly Events Kill Streaks /duels Warps to certain areas of the map where more activity takes place Potentially adding keys as a reward to the dragon egg Trading keys for higher value keys Reworking leaderboards This is just a rough list, we have more ideas that we will be implementing on the server. Additionally, crates will be reworked and we will be moving from Ultra/Epic/Legendary to Voter/Common/Rare/Epic/Legendary as this will allow us to add more prizes and hopefully make it slightly easier to get certain rewards (EULA compliant obvi). Just note though that some of the things from the list above will not be implemented right when we release OP-PvP, but will be things that will be added in the future to cater for the OP-PvP community and add something new to attract players. If we rapidly add changes, people will end up getting bored of the gameplay and quit, but when we add things slowly, it adds more attraction and people would stay. I'll also forward your message to Crew about BvZ so we can get that back up! Hope this message adds more transparency for the community, please feel free to DM me with any questions on Discord (bobalatte.) - I am more happy to answer any and every question at my earliest convenience.
It exactly does take away from the point of transparency. It's confusing how an admin is unable to speak about things like they've signed an NDA. I mean obviously you can't tell us everything, but there's such a massive disconnect. Players are probably better off applying for staff just to see what is being discussed about development rather than trying to get a straight answer from a staff member. Just spit balling here. In all honesty it probably should die down (hot take). I mean it's a discord server for a minecraft server that has no players. Perhaps if the "active community" on there played whatever is "fun" left on the server I can fully accept the changes being made. However, every time I see a forum or discord changelog I can't help but say to myself, "How are there more updates too the discord and forums if there's nothing realistically (game wise) to talk about?" It may as well be just another "Just Chatting" discord server. If I had a say on the matter I'd say leave things how they are and just focus on what everyone collectively uses... the actual minecraft server. Some players that play aren't even in the discord or use forums actively, so when gamemodes get removed/shutdown, they're left with nothing. The updates go to waste. Players leave. Then we are left right back where we started. I also see you're being, while not fully, transparent regarding the server I might as well dig into the stuff you've listed because after all this is a thread for discussion. Updating the map - Already a given Changing crate rewards - No clue about what the new rewards would be, surely the players will like the change though Adding a parkour area - Neat little change (Hopefully it's pretty lengthy and maybe a reward for completion if difficult?) Reducing the Punch V bow level to something lower - This is where beta testing for players would come in handy and give good feedback for development. Quests - No clue what would be introduced as a quest, but if it's grindy enough it should be pretty fun (Looking forward too it) Daily/Weekly Events - I assume this is things like KOTH or maybe Sumo, so yeah looking forward to this as well. Kill Streaks - Actually useful rewards might be tricky for this, but it's not off the board. /duels - I'd rather it be named wagers than duels because I think the aspect of putting something on the line is what will make it really popular. Also, a MASSIVE bonus too making it more of a betting style is that you could potentially ban cheaters who try to get the upper hand and swipe loot off of others. Warps to certain areas of the map where more activity takes place - I've seen this implemented on CubeCraft and it works great, so I'd love too see this added in a couple days or weeks after release. (To find out which spots are active) Potentially adding keys as a reward to the dragon egg - Already exists? ( Trading keys for higher value keys - I disagree with this idea as I can see it somehow being exploited and I don't wanna see this gamemode closed down again for said exploit. Reworking leaderboards - Kind of already a given more of a quality of life change. "We will be moving from Ultra/Epic/Legendary to Voter/Common/Rare/Epic/Legendary as this will allow us to add more prizes and hopefully make it slightly easier to get certain rewards" ^^^^^ I hope this doesn't introduce more P2W stuff on the store. I mean I like the idea of trying to increase the chance of getting certain good items and maybe new items added, but idk where I'm going with this it just feels wrong. Having just 3 crates also felt fine but idk I don't speak for everyone. I'll be back.
It's not something that players need to know I would say, or else I would've said it. I've spent too much time updating it... I don't know about that This would just make our discord team useless, we have one for a reason and they're responsible for managing the Discord. The only people who can actually make in-game changes is our administrative/development team and we're working towards doing so. This is very true. My idea for the rewards are primarily items like potions, golden apples, ender pearls and just basic items that do not make a significant affect on gameplay. I'm more than open to crate suggestions! We'll most likely have our staff beta test but it wouldn't hurt to open the server to some trustworthy players just for another perspective - up to Crew on this though. It'll most likely be things like kill X players, use X item X amount of times, etc. (open to suggestions on this too) - however from what I'm assuming, I don't think quests will be released right away, might be released a bit after the release. Probably things like money or potions, things that are resourceful for players especially when continuously killing players - maybe even like a quick /heal ran by console too or something just to make streaks interesting and competitive. For sure! Is it only legendary keys right now? If so, we might add rare/epic to it as well. Do you wanna elaborate on this? We're definitely going to avoid being P2W - Crew suggested the change since we have the 5 crates on the other servers (Survival/Skyblock/Prison), and adding it to OP would keep things more in sync with the other gamemodes if that makes sense. Please do! You've made a lot of important points and these discussions will help us to better understand what players want so we can deliver the gamemode with things players are eager to try out! :')
Touching on what you said about the Discord updates being useless or less important, I would argue that while the Discord is for the Mineverse server, it also has its own unique community with an almost entirely separate set of staff members. The changes being made to the Discord do not affect the progress of the in-game server whatsoever. There are also plenty of members on the Discord that don't even play in-game but stick around for the community on there.
If it doesn't affect the progress of the in-game server than sure, I guess continue with the updates. However, I'd like to point out that boba just said "I've spent too much time updating it... I don't know about that". If their time is being used on the discord then surely that means that's less time towards the server? I'm fighting an uphill battle here, but I think I can confidently say players are left in the dark. While there IS a community on the discord server, there are still many players that are still around but don't appear in the discord server talking because there's possibly nothing to talk about which I mentioned before how there's nothing game wise to speak on. I'm guessing it's just not what it used to be? Still has the same name and everything but most of the general community (Those who play, don't play, come back every few months, stick around for the ogs, etc) end up having better stuff to do. Just talking here, take what you will from that.
"It's not something that players need to know I would say, or else I would've said it." Well, there is a difference between you not thinking you can discuss it and you having the ability to tell us anything if you wish too or not. In your response before this you made it seem like it's just strictly confidential, but now you're saying that there's no restrictions on what you can say because "I would've said it". Realistically, and this goes for mostly any update on any server in general, sometimes players will know what to expect and a time something will come out and sometimes they won't know when or what's coming until it's actually released. The difference here, and I understand there were some troubles with the release that I'm very curious about, is that most other games simply get their updates pushed out faster which leads to players not having to feel left in the dark because there's very minimum downtime. Not only was oppvp taken down, but kitpvp was aswell. Every pvp player has been left in the dark for months. I think the request of knowing how things are looking despite it possibly ruining the element of a surprise is a justified request. Thoughts? "This would just make our discord team useless, we have one for a reason and they're responsible for managing the Discord." I mean I won't say they're completely useless because I do see some people still needing help and what not and moderation needing to be done. However, you just stated that you spend time constantly bringing new updates and features to the discord server while also being an admin for the actual minecraft server. Not saying you can't update what you wanna update, but surely you'd prioritize the minecraft server over the discord server. Same thing goes for the forums. I think sometimes there's general quality of life updates that I don't mind being added, but then there's also some updates that you took your time implementing that weren't necessarily needed and the time could've been allocated elsewhere. "My idea for the rewards are primarily items like potions, golden apples, ender pearls and just basic items that do not make a significant affect on gameplay. I'm more than open to crate suggestions!" Too lazy to think of some right now. <- (I'll possibly come back to this later) I'm also not the only player that can have thoughts on what should be added to the crates. However, if no one responds to your current idea either on here or in your DMs, then I can only assume they've lost hope in this server actually having life again which is out of my control and I don't blame them for losing hope. "We'll most likely have our staff beta test but it wouldn't hurt to open the server to some trustworthy players just for another perspective - up to Crew on this though." Assuming Crew is actually reading this, let players beta test the damn gamemode please and thanks. As for the probability of the staff most likely beta-testing, I'm slightly against this. They DO count as players, but some of them aren't really that relatable to Op-Pvp. I can't really see how their feedback would be more valuable than an og player's feedback. I think like a good half of the staff have some credibility to give good feedback. but for the other half, not so much if not zero credibility. Ironically enough, if Crew lets players beta test, it would be a 50/50 split of the credible staff giving feedback and the og players giving feedback. Perfect balance. "It'll most likely be things like kill X players, use X item X amount of times, etc. (open to suggestions on this too) - however from what I'm assuming, I don't think quests will be released right away, might be released a bit after the release." Again, not the only player who can speak on this and I'm also too lazy to give my ideas right now. You're on the right track though from what I can see (wouldn't mind seeing the ones you've just listed added) and it's perfectly fine if it's introduced later after release. "Probably things like money or potions, things that are resourceful for players especially when continuously killing players - maybe even like a quick /heal ran by console too or something just to make streaks interesting and competitive." Again, not the only player who can speak on this and I'm also too lazy to give my ideas right now. You're on the right track though from what I can see (wouldn't mind seeing the ones you've just listed added). "Is it only legendary keys right now? If so, we might add rare/epic to it as well. The rewards consisted of a useless kb stick or blaze rod(fire dmg is disabled), armor pieces which are also useless, and vote keys and epic keys (Vote, Epic, Legendary). With your addition of new crates regardless of me stating my opinion that I don't think they should be added / I'd at least wanna see what it would be like ingame before fully released, this in hindsight doesn't sound bad so yeah. "We're definitely going to avoid being P2W - Crew suggested the change since we have the 5 crates on the other servers (Survival/Skyblock/Prison), and adding it to OP would keep things more in sync with the other gamemodes if that makes sense." I like what I'm hearing so far and Crew's suggestion is justified, but if OP is released and I see some more p2w stuff I'm gonna be disappointed. I can actually give my idea on this since it was also present on kitpvp. Should there be p2w stuff on the store for loot, there should be a decreased chance for actually useful items like s35s or s40s for example. Too balance this so players aren't frustrated, either increase the amount of money you can get I suppose or introduce rare/unique collectable items you can win into the crates so there's potentially a market too sell things like that too collectors leaving players happy they didn't lose any IRL money they spent or lose keys they got in a legit manner taking lots of grinding. Finally "Do you wanna elaborate on this?" I'll DM you on discord. I'll be back. EDIT: Also is tuber even alive? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DM'ed you about this! Since this is my first time being an administrator, it's kind of risky for me to mess around with things right now but I've had experience with forums/discord so I like to help with that as much as possible as Crew is the main person who handles in-game updates along with our developers. But as time goes on, my focus will move towards the in-game server solely. Yes definitely, it is an open conversation, anyone and everyone can contribute their two cents! Sorry if it seems like I'm trying to pressurize you! Spoken to Crew, he's okay with it and we can probably let a few trustworthy players help out with beta testing - anyone reading this can contact me through Discord (bobalatte.) and after reviewing your history/information, we'll see if you can beta test! We can revamp rewards then! I can send a collective list on this thread of what we have planned for crates once I make sure the file works properly and there aren't any issues - we can add/remove/edit anything later on if players are dissatisfied or have any concerns!
