I think it would be cool if you could associate your forums account with your Discord account. You can currently only associate it with Twitter and Minecraft. You can, however, add your discord account to your profile, but it doesn't check if you're actually the owner of the account There are many Xenforo Add-ons available, for example this and this. Matt is cool and could easily make one with the Discord OAuth2 himself as well This would be good for several things, such as: Automatically give the premium role to Forums Premium users on Discord Automatically give staff roles to people who have staff on the Forums If an ingame rank integration is added to the forums, ingame roles could easily be assigned on Discord as well
You have my full support, I use discord ALOT and to have this integrated would be nice plus we already have Minecraft association so I don't see how hard it would be to add discord.
Found an add-on that could work! Will ask Crew once I get hands on the other add-ons I'm waiting on :')
After discussing this with Crew, we have decided we will not be adding this feature to our Forums. One reason is while this is beneficial in some aspects, it's not very needed. It can help automate some features like staff promotions and premium ranking on the Discord, but we worry about safety and connectivity with forum accounts and discord accounts. Additionally, the add-on we're looking at is very old, and does not have any support for it which is another risk factor. We already have things such as the Changelog webhook on the discord server which posts changelog links whenever posted, and we have our discord staff who can help with premium ranking. I also believe our head moderators would want to manually promote users in case people try to abuse the synced feature and connect a discord account that poses a threat to the server. All in all, a good idea, but we don't want to take any risks. Hope you understand! Thank you for submitting your suggestion. We have decided that we will not be implementing this suggestion. Should you have any more suggestions or feedback for how we may improve the network, please feel free to create another thread. Thread moved to archives. Regards, The Staff
