Hello Y'all, My name is Dylan better known as GBGBGB13 I've been getting into coding for several years and I thought that it was about time that I tried to make a plugin ( Have multiple years in a multitude of coding languages except java). As Survival tends to be the server that I frequent a lot, I noticed some discrepancies and some features that I would like to add to the server. Ideal Features: -Real life stock mirroring with Mv currency (Buy and Sell stocks) -Elytra Problem detection system (Close to breaking notification before you fly, Laggy death detection w/ instant teleport, Proximity warning for non loaded chunks) -Enchanced mob and Passive mobs Hud (Villager beds and breeding and golem spawning) -Discord Pinger (For offline people who have people who want to talk offline) -Smart mob Spawning ( lessens the load of cpu on server with mobs spawning everywhere) -Death Items (when you die in a stranger's claim, your items are placed in a chest inside your base) -Instant Villager -->Zombie villager conversions (I've have been having problems with my villagers not turning into ZVillagers. If you have any ideas of some features you want to see in this plugin please let me know. P.S. Can someone tell me the version of spigot or fabric the new survival server is running so I can start testing on a private server soon? Dylan Gregory
Hi Dylan! Really cool of you to want to contribute to the server to help make gameplay more enjoyable, here are my thoughts: This certainly does seem like an interesting suggestion, and to my knowledge, original idea - but I don't really see it fitting in with the Mineverse aesthetic. Don't get me wrong, Mineverse is by no means 'vanilla', however the few plugins it does have (survival in particular) are mostly for utility, i.e, easing players gameplay by tweaking vanilla features (stacked spawners for example), and server performance (stacked mobs, removed natural mob spawning). A great suggestion, however somewhat unnecessary. I can't say I've ever died using my elytra on survival, nor have I seen others complaining. I'm sure it's not a 'non-issue', in that some may experience problems with it, but if that's the case, there are plenty of mods out there that solve this problem. Being as it would (in my opinion) only really benefit some, I don't believe that the resources it'll use will be warranted. EDIT: upon looking at other posts in the suggestions section, it seems that this is indeed an issue faced by more than few, so ignore what I said. counting myself lucky but also worried for what's to come! Not completely sure what you mean by this. Are you thinking a togglable boss bar? Chest GUI? Would appreciate if you could elaborate so I can give a proper response. I've seen this done before and it's great, though I think an option to disable it client-side in-game would be useful, or perhaps an ignore system similar to the /ignore command (or integrated perhaps, i.e ability to /ignore discord tags the same way you could players, though there is the issue of characters in tags that cannot be used within MC.) This would also introduce another way for staff to moderate chat while not in-game, without the use of another application such as Pickaxe-Chat (or Minechat if you're an IOS user.) I'm not sure if you're aware but natural mob spawning is disabled, with spawners being the only way to spawn hostile mobs. As for mobs that do spawn, they are stacked, which in my opinion is a good system with few faults already. I'm sure that enabling natural mob spawning has been considered, and either a new solution is in the works (of which our developers are fully capable of) or it's been decided that it will stay the way it is. A cool idea but fairly unnecessary, and being as pvp can be enabled for those who chose, I can see this being abused. It also opens up possible risks of duplication. I've never tried to convert a villager to a zombie villager so I can't speak on it, though being as it's required for an advancement I would consider this to be a necessary addition. Maybe it could be justified by adding a curing zombie villager quest (assuming there isn't already one I have yet to see.)
Hello Manu, Sorry for the initial confusion about some of the supposed features. The Death chest would be only activated if the player was not killed by another player, and the Idea behind the death chest for strangers claim would be that it just teleports the players items in a certain radius into a chest previously specified in the players base. (So If a player dies to PVP the items do not get teleported) The New spawning system is based off if the mine verse staff decide to do natural mob spawning again, with using the players location, to only spawn mobs near the players height or above, so you would not have mobs spawning in the caves and lagging the server. The enhanced mob Gui is just simply a command that allows players to see where certain mobs can spawn, I was thinking of using armor stands as a temporary way to mark the areas. And would have some display to show if the villagers can breed, has a bed, workstation, and If they had spawned an iron golem. It also would show the scare radius of the certain mobs. The elytra is based off many problems that I and the rest of the survival players faced, Going too fast, and unloaded chunks popping up and players smashing into the walls. Also the launch dectection with a almost broken elytra is also due to some people not looking at their durability and dying to fall damage. (Mostly Low ranked people and normal players as they don't have access to /fix) The discord pinger would also as you said, have a mute button on either side if I can work it out, but I think the main functionality would be that it would pair up with Mineverse's anti-cheat and it would send a ping to online moderators with the anti cheat messages and the person or several who reported it. The ZVillager converter is due to the buggy nature of the villager conversion to a zombie villager underground, and will fix the problems of the discrepancy.
Also does any one know the version and type of plugin hoster that they use on survival (Ex: Spigot; 1.15.2
I believe survival is running on 1.16 paper (despite the world being 1.15.2) though I could be entirely wrong. You could try asking a dev on discord though I'm not sure if they'd be allowed to tell you.
