Hey everyone! So lately i've been browsing the skyblock forums alot and came across this post here and it left me thinking, what do mineverse players/staff think about the current application situation? Personally, i'd also like to have a clearer vision of what abilities staff require or expect current and future applicants to have. I'm not attacking anyone here i'm just genuinely curious and like having discussions like these :3

      pls keep it appropriate

I feel like they want you to do reports/be active and be friendly with current staff members. Also to build up relationships with players in the server so people know who you are and you get known in the community. They probs also look for how you act in crews other servers too such as skyblock, skywars, and minetime. To sum it up they just want someone who's well rounded and knows what they're doing as an applicant/future staff member.

Just what I would look for when I was staff I don't know if anything has changed since cause i'm not staff B)

funnily enough I was just reading it and all its replies, some good points are made, though I can't say I agree with it all. I think the trouble stems from the community itself.

as for clearer information in regards to what is expected of applicants, I don't really think it needs to be elaborated on, it's pretty much the same as every other server. if you are; active in game and on the forums/discord, helpful whenever you can, have a clean record of interactions with players and staff, then I believe you have as good as chance as anyone else. I think an issue nowadays is people try too much with their applications - if you show what you're like in-game, those who decide whether or not you're accepted aren't bothered about the 17 page essay you've written on all the incredible qualities you have - acta, non verba

to elaborate on this, clearly there is more to it than that though I think it's fairly self explanatory. as far as what staff manager's of either server are looking for, it's a combination of all this but, while a key topic in the linked thread was how high expectations of skill/qualification and criteria for 'voluntary staff on a minecraft server' is, I think this is a result of the community itself (as in, imposing the view that you're applying to NASA.) I can't speak on the structure of mineverse (though I'd assume it's similar) but being/having been friends with current and past staff on skyblock.net, once into a position, I've been told how you realise how warped a view of the process the community have.

the last thing I will say on this is to take a look at accepted applications on both skyblock and mineverse - notice how for the most part, they're short and to the point? they weren't accepted because their application was so long, or their extensive experience (many have never been mod on a server but show a genuine eagerness to learn to make up for it) but because of how and who they are in the community. if what is expected doesn't come naturally to you, why bother? don't push yourself to become something that really isn't all it's bigged up to be. (ps: this part isn't aimed at anyone in particular, it's purely rhetorical!)
