Implemented Discord Suggestions Chat

add a suggestions chat to the discord for players that have discord suggestions to share.
or a prefix

It’d be a huge help and i’m sure players have ideas to add things to the Discord. Mineverse staff has always wanted to involve the players in things, therefore, I believe a chat for suggestions all around would be good.

May I ask why nah to the first one? I fully understand nah to the third since there is a suggestions on the forums.

 

I feel like suggestions should stay more on forums.
+ they can just make an appeal and suggestion the suggestion if they really wanted to help the server.

 

Appeals don’t always go through, though, I completely understand. I can edit the suggestion to just make it for Discord suggestions.

I feel like in the end it might wind up just not working out well, I don't feel like things would get discussed well enough on discord and kinda feel like it might just wind up being spammed with off topic things, jokes, ect.

I like the idea but I feel like it would be hard to implement it in a way that would really work.

 

i mean not necessarily lol that’s like saying the forums suggestion section isn’t gonna work. if people have suggestions for the discord they talk in general and see if someone will eventually see.

I'm not 100% sure which part you're referring to but I'm going to guess it was this part.

My point here was that on forums you have separate things for each discussion, on discord every suggestion would be in one channel and I feel if its used a lot then it will become a mess of tons of small discussions being being talked about over one another.

It would also be quite hard for admins or head mods to actually find the actual suggestion itself. In theory mods could pin suggestions for easy access which would help, although that may start to be a problem once we get enough suggestions that we hit the pin limit.

..? There’s many bots that have polls and such if you want a sense of organization in suggestions. It’d take two seconds to implement and if you don’t like it after awhile, it’ll take less than two seconds to delete it.

In regards to Tuber’s statement about thinking things wouldn’t be discussed well enough/messy:

If a player doesn’t follow the poll bot, their suggestion will simply get deleted. Once again, it’s a two second process.

Support - mods can prune/delete off topic messages or pin the actual suggestion if needed. I don't think it should be used for in-game suggestions, though, only discord.

 

I’ll edit the suggestion once I get home to change it to that, seeing that many people agree with only discord-related suggestions.

Explaination for nuetral is i just dont think it will help the activity, it could but i personally dont think it will thats all; im not no supporting it because it might. Though im nit supporting it because i dont think it will.

 

Worth a try! I never said it would completely solve the activity in the server, though, if a Discord makes an effort to begin implementing what the players want, it’ll definitely bring more players that enjoy talking in the Discord!
