Now that skyblock and Mineverse in general is growing (skyblock had over 50 players online at once a few days ago), it is the perfect time to add back mob arena. If you don't know, you do /ma j, choose a class with others and fight in a mob arena and the more waves of mobs you and the others survive, the more prizes such as iron, redstone etc you get.
edit: Also adding a PvP arena near spawn could be fun.

 

I remember playing mod arena a while back and that was beyond fun. Support.

It was removed because the plugin for it interfered with normal mob spawning which was why you never really had any mobs spawning on the server back when mob arena was a thing. You pick, mob arena or mob spawns in general.

 

Mob arena. Mob spawning is turned off by default on your island anyway

 

No I mean that even if you turned on mob spawning on your island no mobs would spawn, nobody had any resource from mobs such as bonemeal, building mob farms was pointless, and that combined with hoppers being disabled back then is why the server lost 90% of its player count between 2014 and 2015. I enjoyed mob arena, but that side effect of the plugin destroyed the server and it is now just starting to recover. Besides, plenty of other servers have PvE gamemodes.

 

Has it been confirmed that it messed with the mob spawns? The mob arena can work because in the old days it co existed with mob spawns on islands.

 

If it was between mob arena and mobs spawning, I would rather have mobs spawning for farms. If they can add in mob arena without it interfering with normal mobs spawns then support, although staying no support for now.

 

All the drops from mob farms can be obtained through mob arena.

 

the mob arena on skyblock.net back in 2013 was one of the only reasons i played (also the /warp mob with the insane amount of mobs and people farming them with god items)

 

decreases any rates for mob farms people have.

 

You do know that in the past the mob arena co existed with mob spawning on islands?

 

No support it would cause lots of lag

 

^^^ agreed we would not want the server to lag because i personally came on a intel pentium processor witch can only barely run minecrafts
