I don't play this game and I'm merely making this thread to improve the enjoyment of the players who still play on op and kit pvp. If you message me or reply it will almost certainly be a slow reply. 1.7 Compatability To introduce myself in the simplest way I used to play this server quite often because I enjoyed it. One of the key aspects that I saw fall apart as players such as myself left was the 1.7 compatibility that was removed and that made op pvp significantly less fun. If it was added back I feel like many of the players who use cheatbreaker could play this game and enjoy the compatibility. To do thi the lobby would have to be 1.7.10 Chat filtration The server and its chat filter are way too harsh on the players. It has gotten to the point where the players cant even communicate without their messages being deemed inappropriate and either not going through or them resorting to bypass the filter which is an offence. The way to keep this down is just simply filter racist language and leave every other word untouched. We're not 5 anymore and we can handle some bad words. Eu proxy I know this one will cause a few disagreements and that's okay, I was told there was a new host put in place to fix lag but it has only got worse for some. In many cases its not a case of 'buy new internet and you will have good connection to the server' We know it would be expensive but just for someone to consider this as a thought. ~Charlie about the 1.7 compatibility Porky made a thread about this. https://www.mineverse.com/threads/1-7-compatability.142871/#post-1293490
No support, it's honestly not needed and as matt has said on another thread would be practically impossible. From what I know, the chat filter being that sensitive was a glitch / mistake, I'm fairly sure one of the admins was trying to make it less sensitive and it went back to the original settings, which are horrible. Support either way tho ehhhh The proxy was moved to make it better for people in the EU, and it did get better for them, but if we moved it all the way to the EU it would make it worse for us Americans who make up quite a bit of the server (correct me if I'm wrong), it's one of those cases where you can't please everyone and it's wise to just please the biggest group of players. (EU players don't get that bad of ping anyway if I'm correct) This was really only the case for Australians and such, but as I said it's really a case of you can't please everyone.
see: https://www.mineverse.com/threads/1-7-compatability.142871/#post-1293618 Having an EU proxy for the current network would actually make your ping worse. You need to keep in mind that your ping (latency) is actually directly relative to your physical distance from our host (Which is located near Montreal, Canada). If we were to add a BungeeCord server in France and have eu.mineverse.com, you would actually get a slightly increased ping vs connecting directly to mineverse.com (Canada). This is because you would first have to go to France, then through a BungeeCord (which adds a few ms), and then all the way to Canada, instead of just going directly to Canada. Tux, developer of TheChunk, wrote a really good blog post on this: https://minimum.io/you-cant-reduce-ping-in-minecraft/ If we were to make an entirely separate EU network, this would #1 increase our hosting costs by 100%, and #2 would not allow US players to play with EU players, as you would need to leave the game and join the other IP. Minecraft Java Edition doesn't have a transfer packet *To elaborate on this; we moved to a host in Canada because (among other things) it's more geographically centralized. Previously, we were hosted in Arizona, which sucked for the east coast and much of the EU.
Support. I understand the 1.7 compability issues but the chat filter needs to GO. It is terrible even when you are typing normal sentences and the end of one word and the beginning of another spell a curse word u can't send it. Then you have to find whats not letting u send the message. very frustrating and the chat rules now are ridiculous and unnecessary to what they used to be.
