Hello Mineverse community, as many of you may be aware of, Mineverse is full of hackers, and I am convinced that a lot of hackers use MC leaks or something like that to continuously join after being banned. I think the staff should start IP banning hackers. Any thoughts? *Edit* If hackers must use VPN'S to keep playing, most of them wont take the time to set one up just to continuously play on Mineverse, most would probably go find a different server. Also if your siblings or people using the same WiFi to hack, get them to stop. Simple as that.
If Mineverse could get a thing so people can't join the server with VPNs like in Bad****, that could be a good idea. But for now since it would be almost useless, no support.
Still, even if Mineverse were to ban VPNs, people could still call their ISP and get an IP change for around $10.
Changing your IP isn't the most difficult thing in the world. In the long game, it would be a good thing to apply to the server. Sure, you can bypass it but the account would also get banned. They would still have to use different accounts, so not too many people would take the time going through a multitude of accounts just to play on a server. People do, but it's not a regular thing. To conclude, IP banning would definitely be worth it, as long as the addition of not being able to join with a VPN was included.
Neutral, - Hackers commonly use vpns and proxies its like we are ip banning them when they dont have an actual ip. - Some networks are family networks so maybe a person is a legit guy but his brother is a hacker so the brother should have an ability to appeal his ip this way it would be fair for the legit siblings.
Full support. -Doesn't make a moderators job any harder -Even if family members are banned as well, teaches them right for hacking. -Changing IP/using VPN isn't too hard, but certainly a lot harder than using an alt.
Support hey uh, if the player gets ip banned, if he changes his ip, will he be able to use the same account to log back in?
Neutral -It may help reduce hackers -But it's pretty easy to change your IP like other people noted above -People who live in the same household as you will also get banned even though they probably didn't do anything
People who share the same IP get banned anyway. Therefore that shouldn't be a concern with making this an addition. (No idea why I reply to these as I don't even play anymore)
I was saying that's a bad thing. Ik that people who share the same IP as you will also get banned, that's a reason why I neutral the thread. Because I feel that even though someone who lives with you hacks, doesn't mean you should get punished too because the hacker got IP banned.
What happens if someone's idiotic sibling gets banned for hacking? This would just punish people who live in the same house.
