Creative Basics New Rule (READ THIS IF YOU DISLIKE RPS)

Before i go into detail, for those of you who like RPs, just.. Don't read or comment on this unless you get really mad...



I have no idea if anybody has gone over this topic, so please lock it immediately if you find similar open threads.



I suggest we should add a new rule in creative.
This Rule?

Roleplaying on a plot without being in plot chat will result in a mute..

Now before you start ranting, this is a good thing. RPs are constantly being spammed in the plot chat, and it is triggering me and probably most other players. Ignoring doesn't work, because people can bypass and use /minecraft:me (which i think no longer works). F1 won't work either because you don't know what you're doing. F3 + D doesn't work because it keeps coming back.

So i say we should establish this rule of when you're doing an rp, you MUST use plot chat. This ruins the gameplay of other people using chat (cough cough messaging people COUGH COUGH!!).

 

It is pretty annoying but maybe just like a warning or something

 

I wouldn't go to a mute only if they spammed it. But a warn should be enough. Neutral.

Support. All I see in creative chat is "TP for school rp" etc. It's really annoying.

 

Won't work. Been suggested since 2013 by everyone including glaad and pile and I.
It won't happen. way too late for change now.

Plus if we did that we'd lose all of our creative server which accounts for like 40% of the server

 

It isn't too late. We wouldn't lose players if plot chat was a thing (AND IT IS!). I respect your opinion, im not forcing you to change it. Just consider the following:
Newbie joins
Gets spammed
Newbie leaves, gives negative review of server

I agree that the RP can get annoying to people who are trying to chat. I don't believe that this is the answer though. However, the plot chat was implemented to cut down on some of the spam that comes from that. But again, I don't think that a punishment is the way to go at this point. If people are spamming, please report it, because we can punish for that. We don't get a lot of reports on spamming in creative. I know its different than the RPs though. I really don't have an alternative to suggest for you though.

Better yet... Why not just add a TeamSpeak channel specifically for RP's? Rid of RP's on the server lol

 

Neutral it is pretty annoying, but I think it would be cool if there was a /rp command or something so that only everyone in the rp could join the chat and see the open characters.

I wouldn't say a mute should be in order, but rather a warning. Also, from what I know not too many people know that plot chat exists or else they would be using it more often. I would suggest implementing that when a player joins creative they automatically join plot chat and must manually join /global chat in order to chat with everyone. This not only:
A. Prevents spammers.
But, B. Prevents RP spams on the global chat.
This and a 3 warning system then a mute to players RP'ing in global chat would reduce RP's in global chat. I think that would be better than just muting players in general chat.
