You forgot to read the rest of the post. Like I said, it is inconvenient for moments when you go on vacation or just away from the house for quite some time. I neither supported nor not supported the thread, nor have I stated that I want to the server to die. In fact I have made several threads that would help the server. Anyway, back to the topic at hand, I do support the idea, just I was having a few questions that seem stupid to people like you.
I don't believe we even can do IP bans. -=- Support, this can greatly reduce the amount of rulebreakers re-polluting MV. There are some flaws, but we can polish those up.
neutral, if we did IP bans I see two cons. One was already mentioned about family like brother and sisters not being able to play because of your ban. But the other is more realistic.. I mean we can't even get another admin because crew has trust issues, you'd really think he's gonna give all his mods the ability to see anyone's IP addresses to be able to give ip bans. Bad thing can happen with that knowledge
An IP ban is only effective too someone who isn't too bright. Any hacker has the ability to use a vpn or proxy and an alt to access the server again, and you can't disable vpn's on a server. It doesn't work like that.
Yes it does work like that, no 12 year old with Huzuni will bypass it, also it's better to have something than nothing.
Nice edit, also Huzuni isn't a vpn? And most vpn's are smart enough to be in privacy mode so it can't be disabled. But Good Luck with your idea. EDIT: I agree with the ban on the lobby, but I just wanna say most vpn's can't be disabled.
I do not think that you can fully ban people with VPN's they can just keep coming back with different accounts. Also, the staff here do not ipban which I think is kind of a dumb idea if the player keeps coming back they should just ipban. People with VPN's can just evade the ip ban because of it and it's most likely impossible but it may be possible to actually ban someone with a VPN.
What the plugin does is disable vpns(most) so that way when hackers are ip banned they don't come back, you understand what I'm trying to say? That way they don't hop on an alt.
