Whilst I was on Creative today, a player casually stated he liked making "Black and Asian jokes" Which I found slightly jarring, as I'm Chinese. He also said he liked making "9/11 jokes" "Nazi jokes" "World War jokes" Then proceeded to make a series of these offensive 'jokes' I knew I could report him, but the worst he would have gotten is a warning, then would have just carried on anyways. I myself by various people on Mineverse have been called "Ugly little Asian" and things like this many times, and whilst I do not take offense, I think it is still offensive. My Suggestion My suggestion is to, maybe for derogatory/homophobic/racist comments and jokes, perhaps increase it to a mute or a ban. Considering racism is illegal where I live, I do think the sanction should be increased. Why? Racism is not tolerable and should not be accepted. Well, based on severity they do receive a ban. I understand what you mean though. I believe if caught in-game, by moderator then they should receive a warning. That way they are completely aware what is to come. Most reports I see are spam filled with the same thing, or similar phrase, all being offensive. In this case, I'd support a 1-3 day ban.
I do agree that a lot of cases need to be dealt with more harshly, however it does depend on the severity of what the user is saying.
Support Many might just say "It's the internet, get over it" but is that really an excuse? I believe not. Yes the internet is full of racist jokes, disrespectful comments, but why should it be allowed. There's no difference between saying a racial slur in person, and on the internet except for the outcome, either way it's not acceptable. If it doesn't offend the person it was aimed at, it's still not acceptable because others might take offense. When did racism stop being an issue? The way I see it, all problems have to be dealt with, so why is nothing major been done about it? We've definitely let ourselves down, giving other's a hard time for the color of their skin, rather than the content of their character. <- You get the point, It's all relevant with homophobic comments, and what not. There should definitely be a change of punishment.
Support All of these are major topics that could easily offend someone. They all should really be taken seriously.
First off, I do see how these jokes are racist, and I support a increase punishment. Secondly, if you believe bans will solve the problem, it won't. Its called the internet, you're gonna have to move on from jokes because those kinds of racist comments will always be there and will never go away.

I also dislike Nazi jokes. I don't know why everyone hates them. Hitler was a great leader, he got his county out of poverty and into one of the most powerful countries in the world in a mere decade. He did more for his country than all the current world leaders combined.
