Nanurz, What Happened to Forum Mod? - An Explanation

Hey guys,

Before I get started, I want to make it perfectly clear that this thread is not meant to incite hate or insinuate the starting of some 'war' on the forums. I do not want the people I talk about to be hated on nor do I want a flame war in the comments below. This thread is to make the community aware of what happened, nothing else.

Before you ask, no, I did not step down from my forum mod position; meaning I didn't choose to leave my position. Why though, Nanurz? I will give the best explanation I can down below.

To start, I stepped down from my staff manager position with the notion I was getting forum moderator. I did receive the rank but as you know, it was gone after a day. At the time, Pile, Cypriot, Me, and Dyna were all put in a conversation together to discuss some issues that could arise with the new rank. One issue was that applications would start pouring in and that people would start trying to earn the rank. Another problem was that people would get mad that this forum mod rank was just for me, and it was. While I highly disagree with these points as I thought the application part was petty and the hate part was normal. Come on, it's MV, there is hate for everything that happens here. How is that new? I was so angry, it took so much self control to not rant about it. I was given a rank but it was basically stripped and disbanded because Cypriot thought of the long term effects AFTER the rank was created. It was a di** move and was agreed that it was rude. Cypriot even knows this. I felt it was completely unfair to have a rank but remove it the next day. It is unfair, but it's how things age.

However, in the Teamspeak last night when Cypriot and I were trying to resolve things, we invited Pile in. She opened my eyes to how things really were. I did not want forum mod to moderate the forums. I mean sure, I would have committed myself but how long would that have lasted? The main reason I wanted the rank was because I wanted to stay on the team. You won't understand this until you are staff but the team is a family, you grow relationships. After a year and a half of being staff and a year of leading them, there is no doubt that it was crushing to leave the team. Though, my eyes were opened. Pile thought it was unfair that I was able to keep a rank like forum mod with staff manager perms when dyna has to work so hard to keep the same permissions. This, I agreed with.

Although the outcome was completely upsetting and unfair and it sucked to have it taken, I understand things now. The staff team is why I stayed head mod, the staff team is why I wanted to stay forum mod. It's a bond that is very hard to break. Yes, I am no longer on the team but there will be something coming soon that will make a lot of people happy. Again, no hate please. Thank you everyone for everything.
