[WARNING] Gaming Spambots

This is a warning about gaming spambots.

These are robots which spam servers with IPs of other servers, for example:

GameBot whispers to you: "Hey, join this server! We need staff! NotA.Real.IP"

I highly recommend you DO NOT join these servers. The server will 'hijack' (meaning steal, take over) your Minecraft account and session, and use it to advertise elsewhere. This can get you banned in many places.

 

I do not like when they do advertising, it should be a plug that connects to the server and checks if it is valid, and if it will block the message. Some devlopers might be able to fix a plugin like that, it would have been good.

 

There is, somewhere, a thing that can auto-mute a player if they use too many numbers or full stops.

 

That is a bad idea. Just get a Anti-Bot plugin.

Yeah I have seen a few threads stating they joined one of those servers and got hacked.

So if we have joined one of these our account could be hacked? Does this mean you no longer have access to your account or that they can "hijack" it and constantly use it? How would we know if our account has been "hijacked?"

 

Yes, you can know by trying to log in and you cannot. Or sometimes if they advertise on a server you play while your gone. You may be banned from that server. I don't really know much about this, it just seems logical that this would happen.

 

I have names of seven servers that do this. PM me for my Skype and I'll tell you.

You can still log on but they will also have access to your account

 

Is there any way to get un-hacked?

 

You know, I find it ironic, if they do hack your account when you join the server, they then use that account to advertise elsewhere. However, what will you do with all those accounts if nobody can ever play on your server because you're just getting advertising accounts?
