So I go on Mineverse OP PvP after my clan friends (that still play mineverse) tell me that they added clans to OP PvP, so being the founder of the clan way back when I try to create it, and I get this: Spoiler Basically, the clan name is "Knights" and I cannot make the clan Knights because it has a shortened racist slur in it's spelling. And this has been the clan name for several years, and now that we can actually make the clan "official", we cannot do that under this name because of the overly sensitive chat filter. It's not the biggest deal in the world for me, it's just annoying that this chat filter makes things harder to do on the server than they should be, I've always disliked Mineverse's chat plugin.
I rather not, and I'm pretty sure my clan members, especially the ones who play way more than I do want to keep the name, because as I said, we've called ourselves that for a very long time. This is a very easy problem to fix, and not only does it occur in clan names, but the chat plugin also restricts words like that in regular chat. While yes, simply coming up with a different name is a valid solution and you are very correct; I just think this can easily be fixed, not just for clan names, but also to make regular chat more user friendly.
If you don't wanna make a new clan, than there is nothing anyone can do for you, only thing I can say is, make a new clan name, but you don't wanna do that. Sorry, no one can really help you, sorry if this sounded rude, but it wasn't ment to sound rude.
I believe you should contact staff regarding this issue. Just to be honest. :D That is a personal problem and no one can really help you. Sorry if i was rude in any way :D
No worries guys, no offense taken. I'm kinda hoping that someone who could fix this could see this. I just want to expose that there is a potential problem here. If none of the staff sees this, then I guess this post is useless :P . And if my other guys want to take extra steps to get this fixed then I'll give them the support email and what not. Even though this is a relatively minor problem, it would be awesome if Cyp or Crew and take time to fix this on ALL gamemodes.
I'd be on @JazzMagic's side on this one. We need to make it so the plugin only blocks the word "nig" on it's on, not with words around it. Of course, people will bypass this, infact they already do. A simple fix is when you do /clan create [name], it will warn you that you will be severly punished if you have any inappropriate terms in your name. To confirm this, you do /clan name confirm That won't be enough, so also making the punishments more strict on bypassing the filter would be good considering you just got warned then, right?
Yeah same problem happened when factions first reset, a lot of players couldn't be invited to factions because the filter
