So many people closet cheat it's really starting to become a problem. I'm wondering why you people don't screenshare and have a /freeze command. It would reduce amount of false bans aswell. If there's a reason staff arent allowed to screenshare let me know!
As much as I would like this to be implemented, it would simply never happen. Moderators used to not even have ./v and that was extremely hard on trying to find and catch hackers without them just toggling off, well I know we have it now which is good but then again my point would still stand, we can't check peoples alts for reasons of players privacy etc, so I wouldn't think we would be given perms that would allow us to freeze someone and start going through peoples files. I'd have a feeling that it could be so abusable and some Moderator could just gather up peoples information and once they leave the team *bam* everyone's information is out, just a scenario but it could happen. I'm remaining no support for now unless someone can switch my mind.
You do realize some staff (you know who) false ban, so I bet most staff dont actually know how to ss...
If it’s that much of a problem of privacy, then give /freeze to the Sr-Mods and up. There are things such as paladin (Screenshare Tool) that helps find the cheats for you. I’ve used it while being a manager on two semi popular AU servers and it’s quite amazing. All you do is /freeze a player, tell them they have 5-10 minutes to get in discord (or else you ban for refusal to SS.) send them the code to the ss tool and wait for the results to come in.
If you need someone to teach the team on how to screenshare or to use a screensharing tool, I can make guides if needed.
Neutral As Accept said, nothing stops a moderator who has left the team from releasing information they've obtained. I really don't think Crew would trust it with that power
You can just as easily screenshare on discord and ask to see their mod folder. There's no information the mods will see that will put the player at risk or you could just simply use a SS tool to do it for you WITHOUT having to share screens or seeing anything on their desktop. I could as easily ask someone to download Paladin, enter the code and wait a minute, and I'll get the results. All it'll show me is if they injected any hack clients and will give me times and dates and tell me if it's still active and what they have used. It's not that hard at all and is fairly easy. If it's still that much of a problem, you could get the Sr-Mods or highers to only be the ones with these commands but that means they will have to be ACTIVE as this place has a lot of cheaters.
if someone is willing to release private information when they retire they never should have had mod in the first place.
No support. Barely any of us know how to properly screen share (literally just me and another person) and there’s rumours paladin was a rat so I wouldn’t use ss tools personally. I just will never happen
If you really believe that, that is fine. There are plenty of other ss tools, I only used Paladin as an example and anyone can learn to screenshare, that’s why guides were made and why I’m offering to make one for Mineverse if it ever bothers to actually do something like this.
Switching to Neutral because of @Dumpling, I have personally also used Paladin and it's so easy to use and you don't even get to see the players information. I'd only full support this suggestion if Paladin was to be used.
Paladin is useless, like every other auto-screen-share software. The only way to find clients really is to painstakingly go looking for strings (or obstruction) yourself and that takes in many cases over an hour.
