I believe it is unnecessary for when a user reports a player using the forums, their Minecraft username is practically given out to the person who got banned, muted or warned. So I believe that when a person reports someone they should be able to be anonymous if a person has been successfully ban, muted, or warned. How they could remain anonymous, the person who posted the report, should somehow be remove and the mod have the ability to edit the post to remove the username out of the post after their final judgement. (This doesn't have to be the only way to get this done, the main concern is having the reporter to be anonymous, so as long as the reporter is anonymous any other implementation or method is fine) Being Anonymous should be an option for the user to choose that they can click on when creating a report. It is fine if moderators are able to see who is posting the report even if they choose to be anonymous, we are suppose to trust the staff and believe they won't do any ill harm to the reporter. It is only the public that we are trying to protect the reporter from. The reason why this should be implemented is, this helps prevents any future harassment to the reporter. If players who are willing to break rules and are willing to be a negative impact on the server, they probably would never give it a second thought if they are able to harass the person that got them banned for revenge. Most players who play Minecraft are kids and teenagers, they should never ever have to deal with people threatening to ddos them, death threats, general harassment, and other negative things. People who report are probably the ones who most likely care about the well being of Mineverse. If you really want Mineverse to do well it would be the best intention to protect the ones who still care about it. Not all reporters have dealt with harassment after a report but I know a few people who have been harassed, from getting threaten to have their account hacked to them being DDOS, due to them reporting someone, and I, myself have also had to deal with it too. So please support this suggestion to help prevent any harassment from happening in the future. Note the choice to be anonymous when reporting is an optional choice, not a required one. If you care about the server and the players that play on it please support this thread

My exact reason for not making public reports tbh It needs some working though since I think anonymous reporters should still be awarded a post for their help on keeping the server free of rule breakers. This should also be an option for the reporter. Many applicants want the community to see their reports
I understand what you mean, it could be an optional choice to be anonymous or not depending on their situation i guess since i have seen some mod applications talk about how many people they report daily and so on and so forth
I see your point but I honestly like to see the reports so then if they have been punished previously I can link that report to get them double the punishment. I realize that reports do have the downside of harassment and if they see you in a game they may not hack that time to avoid being banned. I'm neutral on this. I've made lots of bedwars reports and harassment I mean I just would take it as free reports.
Neutral. I like letting people know I'm the guy who got them banned. But I understand where other people re coming from. I'd prefer a system that allows users to go anonymous by clicking a button near submit. Doesn't using the HIDE BB code stop people knowing who you reported? Hidden content won't show up when you search for a username will it?
Same I love when I am known and they get salty towards me for getting them banned :D. If an anonymous system was added it would most likely be a premium feature. That's like ehh kinda may work but it only hides the content in the post it won't hide it completely so if your forums username is the same as your MC username or you have it linked then you're in trouble. Edit: like if you look up your username in the Archive I think it bypasses the hidden system and will tell you if your name is in that post.
I believe the actual content and evidence will still be shown, but not the reporter. You do not need to know who reported someone to link previous bans or warns. I know you wouldn't hesitate to report your friends if you think they're breaking the rules, but some would since their friends can see who reported them. This new feature could potentially lower the amount of hackers on Mineverse
Personally I have never been harassed for It, And people normally search for It on youtube. But I mean why not.
