"Rate Abuse"

Ok, hold on.
You make a thread about your punishment, while in fact, you could have created a conversation with the moderator(s) involved and Pile.

Instead, you are making a huge deal out of it with this thread.

 

I wanted to read other people's opinions too.

 

But this was between you and the moderator, no one else.
It doesn't need other opinions, besides the staff's.

 

I never said it needed other opinions. I wanted other opinions on it, I wanted to point out to the community that there is a flaw somewhere, and warn them that they should be careful rating posts as there is no way of telling how many ratings will get one banned.

 

There will always be a "flaw", I think you're missing that.
People will find ways to bypass the rules about rate abuse.
Yea, they might need to specify it a bit more; the only issue is that you, the player agreed on what rate abuse is. There was an entire thread on it.

 

I didn't attempt to bypass the system, I read through the rules carefully and still found myself getting punished.

First off, a thread was not needed. This is basically a rant thread.

The staff member made a mistake, it is no big deal, honestly. Your permissions to rate should be restored soon. No need to start a war on this thread. Everyone makes mistakes. You could have simply messaged the mod or a head mod or whoever.

And no, to clarify, what you did was not illegal. It is a simple mistake with a simple solution. The staff will listen to you if you PM them next time.

Still, I think this should be highlighted in the official rate abuse thread I.e. how many ratings one can give in an hour, maybe maxing it at a particular number.

 

It was like that and did not work. You can't have a number. People will always find loopholes, trust me.

Crap, I make mistakes all the time. This was a misunderstanding by the staff member and I do apologize for the inconvenience.

You can give positive ratings freely as long as you are not giving more than 3 to one specific person in a short period of time. The rule differs with negative ratings tho. Rating negatively to any one person or different people more than 3 times in a short time is abuse.

This is not the only form of abuse. Just one of the many ways to abuse.

Three ratings is the rule of thumb, this also goes for the "short time". There is no "one hour" rule, but more a spam of ratings in a short time that we look for when reported.

Youre such a savage without the mods the server would be shut down and sure some make mistakes but if you or anyone were mod you would make a couple of mistakes
