Hi guys, my own friend was very recently ranked down from God > Sponsor. Someone bought him it on purpose, and he's really upset. I think the shop should enforce some way of having to have the log in to the MC account you want to buy a rank, because this happens often to many people, whom most never get their rank restored. This is a major factor in the community because we don't spend money to lose it. I hope this is enforced so we can play in peace and not having to worry about it happening sometime at all. This is not completely meant to be a "support, no support" et cetera thing, but if I posted in the wrong section, if a Mod could move it would be great. This is a discussion that needs discussing for future events if ranks cost more, and people don't want to be scammed their money. Emailing [email protected] isn't going to always work. That's true. But 3/4 of the time, people scam the person paying them stuff for a rank. This thread is now probably irrelevant, but I don't honestly agree with the ranking up people thing where random people rank them up. Developers (if you have any computer developers) could make it so that the player can allow a certain player to purchase them it without using the login info. It's just an idea, it can be edited to make it easier for all.
That's not true at all. It's too bad your friend got downgraded but that doesn't mean I shouldn't be able to rank myself up using in game money without giving my password away.
I have been downgraded so many times and I'm sick of it there should be some verification method, Buycraft can be stupid at some moments :/
That's my point, the only issue is I can't think of any solid way to make it possible for people to let others rank them up.
Maybe buycraft could ask for your security questions as some sort of verification (the mojang security questions) it isn't going to give your password to the person ranking you up but who cares if someone has your security answers what are they going to do with them xD
Security questions is one thing that is necessary in changing your minecraft username. You don't need to get them, but let me explain. Mojang.com is where you change your in game name. You have to log into your mc account there to change it. It recommends you get security questions to make it difficult for someone to log into your account and change everything. Telling a person the security questions (someone who is aware) is bringing them one step closer to getting your account. These days, 99% of the dealers that buy you a rank are just looking for vulnerable people willing to give out their information. If there was a different security question variety, it could actually work, though!
Ever since the chargebacks I don't think anyone really wants upgrades from randoms so if you are getting someone to upgrade you make sure it is someone you trust.
I agree. I think it should be banned, unless there's some way they could make a rank specifically for the people willing to do it, and not going to scam. I will redo this with more thought, and for now it will be closed as soon as a Mod finds it. Thanks Rodeen, that is very helpful!!
The point of this thread is to make a way to not have to give away your Minecraft login, but something less important.
