I don't know why this is a bad thing? Servers that encompass the "pay to win" aspect should be gone. It is completely unfair how you could spend money on a kit that would literally make you undefeatable to a vast majority of other players. Where's the fun in that? You guys are saying that servers won't be able to support themselves because of this, false. This doesn't mean servers cannot sell ranks. It's the fact that these said ranks have gameplay advantages linked to them. Servers can still offer incentives for players in terms of ranks, these ranks just can't effect gameplay. There is a perfect example of this, The HiveMC (sorry if this is advertisement but given the discussion at hand I feel its validity is just) This is a good thing. I personally cannot wait to see these servers get shut down and blocked as it will force them to change the way they run their server. Every sever is the same old thing... Buy kits, instantly win. It will force server owners to be more unique when it comes to offering its users reasons to want to support. Making the experience better for new/current players. Seems like people just want to buy their way to victory... I'm really curious to where you pulled this from. Where has it been mentioned that they want to push for "pay to play" feature as the one you stated?
That's not what we're talking about. The owners have set up a shop, where you can buy things for your benefit in the game, to ATTRACT people to buy them, because those items, ranks, perks and kits seem useful to others. And when something's useful, it's guaranteed that it will be bought. And why does it have to be bought? Because the owners need the money to keep the server going, otherwise they won't be able to afford the host! And no, they can't simply set up a 'donation' button because I doubt anyone will agree to that. People want power, in other words, kits, perks and ranks, that's why the owners set it up like that. For BOTH their benefit AND the players' benefit. If people don't buy, the host won't be affordable and the server will cease to exist. You're always free to move to a server that complies with the EULA anyway, no one forced you to buy anything, no one forced you to come to a server that doesn't comply.
They're still allowed to sell ranks and items which don't affect gameplay such as colored names, nicknames, pets etc. You can't deny that all of the kits right now are OP and don't really give new players a chance unless they pay for a rank which is the reason the EULA is being put into place. You can't really say 'move to a different server where the EULA is put in place". I enjoy this server but I'd love for it to be non p2w. All of the servers are going to have to comply soon enough so saying that doesn't really make sense.
