Moderator applications.

I know the rules, and I'm still member. Last time I checked getting Active Member isn't always based on how long you are on the server, but also on something called Trophy Points.. I am SO close to getting Active member, I just need 1 more. (Last time I checked) The rule should be you are a member and above, not ACTIVE member and above.

Tough call on this one. I can see it going either way, but perhaps there is criteria someone smarter than I can figure out.

Currently, the moderator application forums are rather full of some fairly rugged applications. By this, I mean people who join and immediately ask for staff with half completed applications. If there was a restriction of member/active member, hopefully some of this...fluff...would decline. This would make it easier to spot people who cared enough to put together a solid application. Often times many solid applicants see their posts shifted back 4-5 pages in a few hours at times.

Conversely, there are members such as the aforementioned Wardogs411, who were new members, but put together solid applications and has become a great asset to the community.

So perhaps forum rank is not the best method to go off of, but there should be some type of "gateway" if you will to keep some of the laughable applications to a minimum. Think of it as protection from spam bots...but for applications.

I get where you are trying to go with this, making sure that people join and apply right off that bat. However the ranks "Member, Active Member, etc." are based off trophy points which, sure are gained through activeness on forums, but shouldn't be the key purpose especially in an aspect such as this...

 

You can also gain them from ratings, followers, etc.

 

Which is also what gets trophy points, and which also doesn't really matter when applying for mod.

If cutting down the clutter was the main reason to discriminate, the mods responsible for the vetting process can always post a rejection and lock the thread of players they know won't be accepted as mods.

 

I like this idea I just don't know how well it would work...

I think reason 4 is the only valid reason that you don't have. Meaning 1, 2 and 3 are complete bull.

My first account @InsiteLynx was banned for some reason. So when I make a Mod App People are like: get more known in the community. Ive been playing for more than 1 year on MV.

 

So I wouldn't be able to make one? ;-;
