    We probably won't be updating to 1.9 straight away as no public versions of spigot/bungee/craftbukkit will be ready when its released tomorrow. However hopefully soon, we'll be able to get a version with a protocol hack - allowing 1.9 clients though still actually being version 1.8 and we will use that in till 1.9 is steady with few bugs/exploits.

    Regarding PvP, i'm sure we can find a way to still be on 1.9 though removing unwanted features and perhaps having a mix of both 1.9/1.8 combat, even if we have to change how the new weapons & armour function. Having weapons recharge on something like kitpvp or oppvp, I feel would be slow and boring and actually reminds me of Runescape. xD

    Honestly if we could have the pvp gamemodes stay 1.8 then the non-pvp gamemodes become 1.9 that would be great.

    So kind of like what you did when 1.7 came out with being able to join on both clients? And like what you did with 1.7 and 1.8?

    You can give people haste 100 or something, the more haste the lower the cooldown

    if mineverse updates to 1.9, they'll lose half of their pvp based players and kit pvp and op pvp etc will be dead. 1.9 is a living tumor

    I know a server that has already been updated. I didn't play on it, I just looked to see if any servers went with the update.

    Tbh, duel wielding with bow and sword is pretty sick. Can shoot bow while holding a sword. ;)

    1.9's release has been pressuring a lot of developers, but MD5 and Spigot have been working very hard to update their software, and I think they have. I still don't think Mineverse will update for a while to 1.9 officially, due to 3rd party plugins, but as @Noobcrew said, I think their will be a protocol hack, allowing the 1.9 users to connect to this 1.8 server :D

    It's a bit of a hit and miss. If MV upgrade, then people will quit because of things like PvP. However, eben if MV don't upgrade, many people will still quit to be able to play on another 1.9 server. So yeah!
