I have heard Minecraft 1.9 is a "Combat Update" and that the combat system will be changed, drastically. I heard from my friend that the combat system in 1.9 will disallow you from spamming your sword (or swinging fast), is this true? If this is true, and the combat will be changed on a drastic level, how will Mineverse (and other servers) have PvP servers? Will it just be 1.8 still? I could be horribly wrong, and have all my information wrong. Just from what I am hearing about 1.9, it will destroy some servers, and gamemodes! Thanks for reading!
Not only kitpvp and oppvp but skywars, Prison , opprison , bedwars and others should be at 1.8 And it would be a huge pain to turn on 1.9 to play creative and then 1.8 for pvp each time..
I don't see the point in this magical 'Combat Update'. However I'm sure some magical wizard developer will make a plugin that runs on 1.9 servers and allows 1.8 combat . If not... R.I.P Every Minecraft server.
I know, but think about it. McMMO was a hard task, I bet you Factions was. They're all amazingly hard plugins to make, surely somebody can make a plugin that changes the combat. Yet, it could be more of a mod not a plugin. :/
I doubt a lot of Minecraft servers will upgrade to 1.9, considering it seems a lot don't like the new combat system.

This is true, yes. But 1.9 also includes the feature to disable the weapon cool down. So if mineverse updates to 1.9, the owners can disable weapon cool down with a simple command. EDIT: There are commands to disable almost all "horrible" 1.9 combat features. When you disable these, PvP will be just like 1.8
