Hi! I saved enough money to buy an iPhone 5s off of eBay with my own money. I got it, but I think I got scammed. They left it on the setup and it's linked to an Apple ID. I've never owned an Apple device, so I'm clueless to what this is. I think I got scammed, and it's linked to an email address which has some letters and some black circles. Sorry if I sound nooby, but it's annoying I spent forever saving up $ and it turns out to be broken/scammed.

Contact the original owner or take it to best buy or something.

 

Happened to me...Just reset the whole phone. You need to root it and download an app from the apple website on your laptop. Was a while ago though.

Go to your settings, then go to general.


Then click reset, and reset the whole phone.

 

Well, problem with that is it's on the setup. Like unboxing a new one, but activated. I've taken it to Sprint, Verison, and Boost. They all said to contact the owner, but he never replies. I hate to say this, but is there a way to hack it?

Reset the phone. For a detailed method Google it.

 

As @8top said, use your computer. That way, you can avoid the setup.

I've tried before.
It had an iPhone thing in iTunes and I clicked on it, but it asks for the apple id.

Omg. Ebay is not that "dependable". Dan it buy it from apple. Dude you could've got insurance. Omg.

 

If you do a factory reset problem = solved and then just set it up as you normally would. Good luck! You should probably try to talk with apple also.
