Apparently, a new rule just came out that inappropriate names now get perm muted, which I believe is complete bullsh*t. I only have pretty much one account that I sort of own, Fatsh-t. Now I'm not even going to be able to talk to other players on the server because apparently it's 'inappropriate'. It currently has an elite rank, I can't change the username for it since the email is deleted (which is why it's my most protected account). Many players are going to lose their freedom of speech because of this idiotic rule. I'll tag a few players who are ticked off about this too.
I agree with the rule, if you cant keep profanity off your name it is better that you be kept off the chat. You can change you email by contacting mojang support with the transaction ID and by requesting an email change but I suspect that you "lost" even the ID or "never had it" which is a convenient excuse that can be used by anyone who doesn't want to change his/her vulgar name. If none of the above is applicable and playing minecraft with the ability to talk to your friends is important to you, you can always buy a new mc account and ask for your rank to be transfered. No one jeopardizes your freedom of speech but you. Many people believe that they have only rights and not responsibilities, but this isn't true, either you have both or none. The right to speak is given to those who respect the others, and this applies to every respectable media of communication or forum. Your rights are not above the rights of the rest of the people and the rest of the people have the right not to read vulgarities every time you decide to say something. The owners of this server are interested in getting as many players as possible and not to protect the right of a bunch of kids to be called fatsh*t or anything similar. If you ask me, a mute is not enough because the name can still be seen on the list, a permanent ban until the name is changed would be more appropriate.
Of course you can, you can contact the mineverse support with evidence that both the accounts are yours and after they verify your IP the rank will be transferred from the one account to the other. I get the feeling that you are ierlic and that you are ban evading, the similarity of your forum name with his in game name must be more than a coincidence.
Why would you create an in-game name that is offensive and/or includes swear words in them, and then start to tell everyone that it is not your fault? :s;)
I still don't get this rule. If someone has an inappropriate name, muting them will not solve any problems. They still will show up on the "Tab Menu" and in /who.
Wow. Why make a rude name in the first place? I think the new rule is a life saver, to be honest. Whoever has an inappropriate name deserves to be perm muted. And oh, you are the guy who said stop posting on your thread plz, weren't you? Meh. No support 100%
