Inappropriate Names

This is 2015, kids nowadays are exposed to vulgarity at such a young age
As for the rule, I believe it's bs. Why should a player be perma-muted for their name? So irrational.

So it's fair to me to have a perm mute although my name isn't bad? Right.

 

So stopping people with inappropriate names from talking in chat on one minecraft server cleans children's vocabulary?

Okay, I have a serious opinion.
What if the person with the bad name is actually a child help service agent and is undercover to in the long run help the children. If they can't talk anymore, how do they help? They don't.

I agree with the rule, If you cant keep vulgarity of your name it is better that you be kept off the chat. If you call someone with your user name (fatsh*t) you can get banned for disrespect. BTW you should call your mom by that name, Im sure she will appreciate it. Don't ask mods to explain you the rules, click the rules button on the top of the page and read them yourself.

The server is for everyone, not just for immature kids with inappropriate names and perverts. It is not a parent's responsibility to sit and monitor all the existing user names and the names of the new players that will join the server before allowing his/her kid to play on it.
The owners of this server are interested in getting as many players as possible and not to protect the right of a bunch of spoiled brads to be called fatsh*t or anything similar. If you ask me, a mute is too kind because the name can still be seen on the list, a permanent ban until the name is changed would be more appropriate.

 

Says the 25 year old who cusses, rages and has the maturity level of a 7 year old. You constantly argue with people and tell them they're a pathetic waste of space, do you think parents would want that for their kids too?

 

@iElric if you wish to change the name of the account you have access to called "fatsh*t" use this website to change the email to a different email so you can change the name.

The purpose of the rule is not to clean your vocabulary but to keep the server clean from people who use that vocabulary. Server doesn't tolerate racism either, that doesn't mean that the racists will stop being racists because of that rule, it means that their views won't be allowed to be expressed here.

 

Agreed. The rule is a bit extreme. A user name such as "F*ckUrN*ggamom" should be muted. But "fatshit" or "idy"? No.

If their parent's wouldn't like that for their kids they should have taught them some manners because if I argue with someone the chances are that he/she is in fault. Lastly you are not enough to talk about my maturity level but I wouldnt expect something more from a supporter of idy.

Why this rule is bad:
Players can pick any username they like so why are they punished for it here? Also their name does not always reflect their personality. You could have the most immature username and still have a good quality and respectful player. And it's not like their gonna change it, it will be hard I get their stuff back. Plus the kids with. Plus kids with a bad username most likely have the awareness of their parents. So their parents are most likley aware of it.

Why this rule is good:
It allowed players with bad usernames to change it so little kids will not ask what it is.

On the contrary, I wasn't neglected and thus I was taught not to bother those who don't bother me. Respect is earned and if I don't respect you it is because you gave me some reason no to. So don't blame me, blame yourself. You need to understand that you are not in position to tell me what to do and if you think otherwise it is because of bad parenting.

 

Last year, they let someone with the username of F*ckNoobcrew on the server without mute.
If people don't want to see inappropriate names, /ignore.
