Death Threats Rule

Support. Shouldn't be bannable unless the person is offended by it, which they can express via a report.

Completely agreed, this isn't a joking matter. Another person told my friend to "kys" and they attempted to. In my opinion as Dyna said, if it's a joking matter or not that doesn't matter at all. It's very serious to tell someone that.

 

I agree that its not a joking matter. I just think that the person being told to him themselves should be the one to report.

 

I don't think so, some people don't have forum accounts or even know it's bannable.

 

But what if that person doesnt take offense to it at all?

 

Which means if they find it offensive they can make a forums account and report it, not too much to bear buddy.

Never asked for the rule to be removed. People are completely ignoring my point. I asked that the rule be modified

 

If people are actually that soft to get offended or possible suicidal because someone says "Kys," than they shouldn't be playing minecraft period. Things like that shouldn't be taken seriously. I feel like actuall death threats such as;

"If I ever see you irl I will shoot you in the head"

Simply saying "Kill yourself" Is something I see and hear often as a joke or to express slight rage in losing to someone...

 

If you don't want to be banned and just want to joke around, msg your friend or say "kys in minecraft". I don't really see it as a joke though, and isn't funny even with your mates, but it is when you say "in minecraft"

 

If I remember correct, staff are the only ones who can see reports and archived reports. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I agree Lauren. As hypocritical as this may be, telling people to kill themselves isn't something to joke about, especially with my experiences in depression/suicidal thoughts. Unless you're close to someone, you don't know whether those 2 words will actually affect them or not.

 

Then they should spell out "kiss your sis" and not risk being banned for their own sake :rolleyes:

I know it's easy to say that the mods are idiots and they banned you for saying 'die' in Minecraft, but it's honestly hard to tell in reports without context whether or not they are kidding or referring to Minecraft.

Telling someone to "kill yourself" is a serious matter, even if you were joking. People take these kinds of things seriously and could be really hurt by it. Yes I know sometimes you could be just saying it as a joke but something like that still isn't a joking matter.

 

I've seen some people take this seriously, so I do suggest you never tell anyone this.
