Of course they work.

But it isn't exactly hard to use a VPN or change your IP. I've changed my IP and am now bypassing an IP ban.

Bans are supposed to prevent a user from coming back and making the same mistake from before if we just allow ban evading no one would learn from there mistakes, I mean I don't know anyone who has ban evaded and did the same offence again (most likely hacking) If ban evading was allowed then what would be the point in a ban? Or what would be the point in having staff members in the server? The rules are supposed to be enforced and not let them be slid by.

No support. This is because there are some people who would abuse this for example xokah he is always being banned and always comes back on alts and does the same thing or something else to get himself banned.

 

You just listed the exact reason to support a thing like this... He's already doing it while the rule is place, let me put it this way.

A rule breaker will not follow rules, if they wish to break rules they will ban evade and break them.

In xokah's case, he still ban evades while it's bannable, if this was not bannable he would ban evade, if he than broke a rule using that account we would ban the account.

 

My one problem with this is it makes the game more pay to win in a way. If you have a bunch of ranked alts like xokah, you can just keep getting banned without care. If you’re a person with no alts, well you’re done for.

 

No I'm not listing a reason to support I am saying that if this was allowed no one would learn their lesson so this will mean that more and more people won't care about being banned so they will break the rules more and make it harder for the mods and the people that do follow the rules. For example say a hacker/cheater joins mineverse they kill a lot of legit people and those legit people get mad and get a mod. The mod bans the hacker/cheater and leaves and the people are happy, then that cheater/hacker gets back on and starts doing the same thing. With this scenario repeating the mods work much harder and the legit people lose more stuff.

This is legit exactly my point, this happens anyway, if they have alts, and want to break rules, they're obv gonna break the ban evading rule. Most people learn the lesson just by having their main banned though.

Well, yes, but you can do the same thing with the rule in place too :c

So your saying allow the hackers back? I mean Mineverse was built by hackers. A couple years ago everyone hacked on the popular servers. Some of you might remember hacked armor, bhoppers, and the infection hackers.

 

Hackers use VPN's or change their IP's anyway.

I'm permanently IP banned from the lobby yet I play in game whenever I feel like doing so, and there isn't anyone who could stop me really, all I have to do is change my IP and the moderators/head staff and even administrators can't do that much.

 

I feel like either 1) mods get /alts and they can just randomly check players or 2) allow ban evasion are the options, and I don’t see 1 happening.

Still neutral. I can see the reasons why but for extreme cases (doxxing, grief, hacks that may hurt the server, etc) just dont allow ban evading? Idk
