New Staff Rank [Helper]

When new people come onto the server, it can really be a little overwhelming for them; especially with a server like Mineverse that has such a big community feeling to it. I think thay we should introduce a staff type member-y thing that is specifically for people who need help - these staff members would not be like moderators. Helper would not have to deal with hackers and rulebreakers, but they would be a nice person to turn to if you need help and moderators are not on.


This would be a good addition to Mineverse as it has a particularly prominent community, which can sometimes be intimidating!

Hope this didnt sound too essay-like; old habits die hard.

These are called "helper". Would be nice to get people who just help instead of moderators who are primarily just busy looking for hackers.

No support. What exactly would this person have besides for a fancy tag that a normal user wouldn't have?

 

They would specifically be accepted to help people who ask, and unlike moderators who have to look out for rule breakers and hackers as well, Guides/Helpers could provide help immediately. Guides would not have to deal with hackers or rulebreakers. They would just be there to support new people!

I was thinking about this idea too.

 

But regular people do this too? I don't see why people need to be given a tag. I help people who have questions in the chat, I don't need a special tag to do that.

 

Because new don't know anyone there and some people may be rude. Helpers would have ti be friendly.

 

These helpers essentially cannot do anything that a normal player cannot do, which is why I view them as pointless.

Not to mention the host of problems which will arise from Cypriot having to deal with promotions/resignations/demotions and having to fix donor ranks after people have stepped down.

I honestly (@Veracity_) think that this will change absolutely nothing, people ask questions and usually they are answered, this won't make a difference to that.
